Title: Eye surgery

Nate - July 26, 2006 12:03 AM (GMT)
Yep I get eye surgery for three reasons

1. I wear contacts (bet y'all didn know that :P)
2. I have perscription contacts that I don't like to put in...
3. I'm partially colorblind I see in a grayish scale for colors (I can see them but there's gray with them.)

I was wondering if anyone else has had surgery and can give me some advice... I might not be on this weekend because of it... probably not and I'll be blind for those 2 days... hopefully I'll be back on monday...

Juan - July 26, 2006 12:20 AM (GMT)
I was thinking about it, But I got used to glasses so I said no. But One mistake and there goes your vision.... Good luck Dai.

Nate - July 26, 2006 12:30 AM (GMT)
I'm blind as it is... (without contacts) glasses looked bad on me I only wear them for Cosplays (*coughsatoshicough*) I just hope to god there's no mistakes... I've never had normal vision... since the cat clawed my eye.

Joshua Johnson - July 26, 2006 01:35 AM (GMT)
Some advice: Don't worry, go in as if it were something normal, and let everything run smoothly without fearing anything. Let everything flow naturally. I suggest sleeping on the way there to keep you more emotionless.

Nate - July 26, 2006 01:39 AM (GMT)
Yep... I get to see colors if this works but the main reason for going is I don't like contacts... and glasses fall of my nose...

Joshua Johnson - July 26, 2006 01:42 AM (GMT)
You'll probably enjoy colors more than a lot of people in the world... Brilliant blues, ripe reds, glorious greens. You'll be happy, and you won't regret it, hopefully.

All I know is I can tell light or dark right now... and from the looks of it my future will be dark with even the minor mistakes...

Joshua Johnson - July 26, 2006 01:56 AM (GMT)
It'll be dark for at least 2 days. Don't think so negatively.

Nate - July 26, 2006 01:57 AM (GMT)
I don't but it's still dark (:P told ya my future is dark)

Joshua Johnson - July 26, 2006 02:07 AM (GMT)
It won't be, once you get better, your future will be inexplainable.

Lionheart - July 26, 2006 04:13 AM (GMT)
I'll be getting lasic eye surgery when I turn 18 or shortly thereafter.

Puff - July 26, 2006 05:05 AM (GMT)
My mother got eye surgery, years ago. I think, after I was born, not sure though... Anyway. It didn't last very long, she needs glasses again...
But.. Yea, never heard of a eye correction surgery that helped the [partially] colour-blinded (I'm very skeptical. -_-# ).... Good luck.

Valter - July 26, 2006 12:42 PM (GMT)
Don't be scared. I don't know if you will be awake or asleep during the procedure, but let the doctors do what they are going to do.

Joshua Johnson - July 26, 2006 08:43 PM (GMT)
My mom had it, too, and she sees perfectly; in fact, she can see things better than 20/20 vision. Though she's not even neer-sighted.

grondring - July 26, 2006 09:21 PM (GMT)
Hah! Nice timing, I just got contacts today. :P

Nate - July 26, 2006 09:21 PM (GMT)
They said it might... I'm doing it cause glasses aren't my friends... (I dunno if the color will come back it said it might but as I said I wanna get rid of glasses.)

Joshua Johnson - July 26, 2006 10:00 PM (GMT)
Oh, well I hope color comes!

Well, don't be nervous about surgery. No one I've ever heard of woke up during it (if you're being put to sleep), and usually your mind builds the whole thing up. Just be calm. Smile. ^_^

So far that comment made me the happiest cause now Grondy is in the horable land of bad eyes :P

Sara's will probably help the most...

And I agree with Puff's they said it was cause I'm not completely color blind that it might work.

SpiralStatic - July 27, 2006 02:21 AM (GMT)
I've worn glasses since I was 8. It's not all that bad IMO.... I probably won't ever get surgery... too lazy.

First two of three times I had oral surgery, I woke up and they had to stop... I was so scared...

Agreed with Sara, stay calm, relax. I doubt they'll put you to sleep, since your eyes need to be open during the surgery. They'll numb you, probably. (Oh joy. Dai drugged up with morphine. x.x;; )

Nate - July 27, 2006 03:28 AM (GMT)
MORPHING FOR ALL!!!

(I like morphing... hehehe... I bet I will on Monday... I may drop in on sunday though... doctor says I might have my eyes not hurting then...)

sara13987 - July 27, 2006 06:21 PM (GMT)
Don't you mean "morphine"? Or is that a deliberate mis-spelling?

It'll be fine though. Will you have any, like, restrictions after? Like, are they going to put patches on your eyes or something for a bit?

Nate - July 27, 2006 08:52 PM (GMT)
All day of the eye surgery (after surgery) I get to have my eyes shut and I can't move them (numming or something...) so saturday I'll be gone and sunday at like 9:00 in da morning I get to come back... something like that... They say my eyes will be sore for 4 days and they'll be sensitive to light until the sorness is gone...

(Yes I did mispell it purpously)
