Title: Hormonal Treatments
KuraiKitsune - August 1, 2006 05:00 PM (GMT)
Well, strange title, I know. However, I find that, by switching hormonal medications, I'm more agitated, irritable, and tired. x.x What's up with that?
Well, my main question being, how is a different level of progesterone making me nothing but an angry, uptight wad of tension? >.> I know I'm agitated, and I hate myself every time I act on my anger. It's driving me mad, but if it'll keep the ovarian cysts away, I'm happy. x.x (Girls, think of cramps. Now, think of them being constant. Then, on some random moment on some random day, imagine feeling as if you've been shot in the abdomen. That's what it's like. >.>)
Oh, another thing. Does anyone else have the same problem as I do?

Hmmm... Like birth control - you know, some females can use one but not another because whichever it is will cause some kind of problem - your body may have gotten used to your previous hormonal treatment, but then freaked when you switched... because of a hormonal imbalance. (You did say different levels of progesterone, right?)
[Click] Apparently progesterone is a steroid hormone; another reason why you may be irritable.

Holy shit. Ovarian cysts? Yeouch. I'm kinda glad I'll never know that pain, but I do sympathise... ow... But is there such thing as Testicular Cysts? That'd be painful, I hope there isn't...

What's a cycist? Isn't it when something explodes? Like... an ova, or something? I've forgotten, sorry.
:"( Hope you're alright, Kurai, m'dear.

A cyst is an abnormal growth that could be harmful.
As for kurai, the meds you have would do that to you, being the body responds to hormones in different doses and types.

Well, I've got good news, and bad news.
I went in for an ultrasound. Looks like I've only got one liquid-filled cyst left, and two that are extremely small, but solid.
Bad news; that liquid cyst is going to have to bust sometime. x.x
I am on birth control pills, Puffie. I switched from one type to another when the first one threw me into depression. Now I'm irritable, instead. >.> I don't like the rep that brings, either.

Can't they do some type of surgery to remove the cysts?
Oh, sorry. "Hormonal medications" didn't seem the same as "birth control." Either way, I'm against birth control because of the fact - it messes with your hormones. And with your case, that's not a good thing. Couldn't you take some kind of asprin instead?... Then again, asprins cause bloating.
(You make me want to go into medicine, instead of veterinary...)

They could, but... it costs so much. o.o The pills I get are free from my gynacologist, oddly enough. :o
Also... being off my feet for three weeks doesn't seem too appealing. I had someone I know go through it, and she wasn't supposed to sit upright for twenty days due to a 'minor complication'. She was miserable, to say the least. >.>
The cons just outweigh the pros, even though that'd be a nice, quick alternative. x.x
Well, the birth control was used as the hormonal medication. x.x I can take asprin and whatnot, but the birth control stops the formation of new cysts; it doesn't get rid of old ones, but it prevents new ones. Asprin can get rid of the pain of the current ones, but can't prevent future ones from popping up.
...Maybe there's a god out there that hates me for pledging to remain single.
