lately i have heard rumors about Green Day having an opera on the american idiot album. And i also heard that they were coming out with a movie called "Jesus of Suburbia" based on the album where he's a skitzofretic and st. jimmy is a voice in his head. Is this true?

Red Hot Chili Peppers is good. o_o Jimi Hendrix is good. Judas Priest is good. Black Sabbath is good. o________o; That's just a short list of popular and skilled artists. Right off the top of my head.

On the topic of Green Day.. I love them. I think they're a great band whether their songs are just power chords or not. They still make music that SOUNDS good, and have a series of wonderful stories of smoking pot and masturbating. Their 90s stuff was the best, but honestly American Idiot is often considered the OMG WORST but its better then albums like Warning. >_<

My favorite Album is easily Dookie. I still enjoy listening to Nimrod, Insomniac, and American Idiot though. My favorite song would probally be Longview or Jesus Of Suburbia difficult to decide.

Green Day overated? I'd say it's a bit of both. x_x Most people say Green Day owns when all they've heard is the American Idiot Album. Also a large group of people say Green Day sucks, when all they've heard is American Idiot. So I wouldn't call them overrated, really.

As for the "Jesus of Suburbia" being a skitsofranic (SP?) again this is another if. The opera itself is very shady, and the story is pretty much what you want to make of it. I personally, believe the theory of St. Jimmy being a voice in Jesus' head, just listen to the following songs: Jesus of Suburbia, St. Jimmy, Homecoming. During Homecoming Part I: The Death of St. Jimmy one line in the lyrics almost proves this theory.

"Jimmy died today. He blew his brains out into the bay! In the state of mind.. it's my own private suicide... *insert sick guitar here*."

So yeah, after watching a few documentaries on Green Day and reading a few wikipedia articles, I have my information. XD
