So... Puffy completely sucks at history and government (appearently), and I was wondering if you guys could help...

For AP Government I have to write an essay ("In policymaking, American liberals and conservatives express different policy preferences. These differences can be attributed to the theoretical and practical ideologies held by each. Identify and explain two ways in which liberals and conservatives differ theoritically. Then select two policies and explain how a liberal and a conservative would approach each issue.")

I've notes for the first identify and explain... However, with the policies, I'm completely flustered. Liberals and conservatives are the same thing in my mind...

Liberals are very open minded, and more relaxed on issues. Your pro-choice, Gay rights, and such and such ard the liberals, and their policies are generally like that. Another tidbit is that they never seem to lower taxes, and focus on the economy. Generally Democrat.

Conservatives are very straightlaced, and traditional. They're your tax breaks policies, anti-abortionist, and focus on the people more than the economy. Generally Republican.

I can go on....but I left my book at school. :"(

But.. So, if I were to write about one difference as being equality and freedom, would liberals be pro-freedom and conservative pro-equality?

I wanna say yeah, but I don't wanna steer you down the wrong path. I also wanna say that while I'm good grade maker in social studies and related classes, I slept all week in government, so take my words at risk.
