Title: The Bears
Hiei - October 9, 2006 12:51 AM (GMT)
Are going to have a perfect regular season.
Alex - October 9, 2006 02:23 AM (GMT)
Maybe. I don't really see them losing from here on out.
King Kong - October 9, 2006 02:25 AM (GMT)
*agrees*
Their schedule is so easy, it's not even funny. They'll make it to they play offs, and lose a round or two in.

Yea, I'd give them to round 2, but it depends who they play.
King Kong - October 9, 2006 03:08 PM (GMT)
Round 1, they'll have a bye.
Round 2, they'll play someone like Seattle, Atlanta, or NYG.
If they win Round 2, they're dead meat in R3, which is divisional playoffs to decide who goes to the championship round, and then the SB.
My SB pick? ATLvBAL

Speak with logic when you're speaking with me. The falcons beat the panthers, so, by default, falcons>panthers. Duh.
Hiei - October 11, 2006 04:24 AM (GMT)
obviousl- oh, wait. That's right, we didn't have Smith. ^^;
Kyrillos - October 12, 2006 08:16 PM (GMT)
I have to say this:
Your sereiously underestimating Grossman-Berian combination.
Muhammed is also a goot mid range player.
In fact, I doubt that the Falcons will stop the Bears. I mean, not after the performance against New Orleans, I'd be more worried against losing to the Saints. :P
The two teams that will give the Bears trouble are the Vikings and Baltimore.
The Giants aren't very good, either, from watching their game >>;
Panthers have a horrible option offense I believe. And their Option Defense. The Bears have already rolled over a similar game plan.
Baltimore-Bears would be a good game.
I havn't seen Seattle yet, so I can't list them as a threat.
The closest challenge the Bears had was the Vikings, and they can obviously play and win under pressure. That's a big thing in football.
King Kong - October 13, 2006 08:22 PM (GMT)
Aien, are you...a few clowns short of a circus?
Option Offense is what Atlanta runs. It's where the QB can either run the ball or hand the ball off to the RB. If there's a defender in the QB's face, he gives it to the RB. If there's a defender in the RB's face, he runs with it. There's no such thing as an "Option Defense".
Seattle sucks this year, and Alexander got hit with the MCC.
The Vikings won't stand a chance against Chicago. Chicago had a horrible game, and Minnesota had a great one, and yet Chi town still came through in the end.
Hiei - October 13, 2006 09:12 PM (GMT)
he means their defense is good against the option
vashies - October 15, 2006 10:10 PM (GMT)
dude texans can own up anyone (haha good joke eh?) the bears are good in my opinion

lol @ bears losing to ari

Kyrillos - October 17, 2006 02:59 AM (GMT)
Why have many of the 'Onslaught' Monday night football games been upsets?
New Orleans>Atalanta, and now Ari>Bears?
WTF?
Hiei - October 17, 2006 04:09 AM (GMT)
Damn. Gay comeback. Fuck the bears.
Alex - October 17, 2006 06:41 PM (GMT)
How the Bears scored 3 tds in a row on defense/special teams baffles me.
Silenthunder - October 18, 2006 12:14 AM (GMT)
After Arizona kicked the shit outta the Bears the first half I don't think the Bears deserved to win at all. They got very lucky since their offense did crap and the Cards missed a few scoring chances.
Kyrillos - October 18, 2006 02:30 AM (GMT)
Good teams find ways to win when they are down. Arizona got tired, and the Bears took advantage of it. It was a pretty odd win, with the missed field goal and all, but the stripping and punt return show what the Bears are capable of, and what Lovie was talking about.
| QUOTE (Lovie Smith) |
| The number one goal for our defense is not only for it to stop their offense, but on a fumble, to recover and SCORE with the ball. After that it's just the recovery. |
Apparently, the Bears did what Lovie asked. They recovered the fumble, and ran it, twice, and Special Teams decided a Punt return would be a nice touch.
So stop yer complaining, GOOD teams find ways to WIN all the time, not just come close.
Silenthunder - October 18, 2006 11:57 PM (GMT)
So you don't think any of what they did was luck? Their offense barely even came close to the endzone. They are the part of the team that is supposed to put the points on the board. The Bears' offense sucked and they were LUCKY that the defense picked up their huge amount of slack.
(I can capitalize words too)
Firecross - October 19, 2006 01:54 AM (GMT)
whoah don't be sayin that the bears pickin up slack on defense was LUCK, last year the bear's defense is what got them to the playoffs, in '85 the bears defense made them go 15-1, they're not a team that's supposed to put points on the board, the area where they're lucky is that Rex Grossman had a phenominal first five games
Silenthunder - October 19, 2006 03:26 AM (GMT)
Even so the Bears were down 20-0 at the half. The 20 is up there because the defense couldn't stop the Cardinals and the 0 is the because of the Bears' offense. It took quite a bit of luck in my mind to make all that up without the offense. Plus, it was very lucky that the Cardinals missed two field goals in the game (one of them was off by a few feet) which would have given them the win.
Firecross - October 20, 2006 03:11 AM (GMT)
I'll give you the field goals, but the defensive touchdowns go to 2 factors other than luck:
1. Leinart's a rookie, and the bears tackle hard, so that's 1 fumble
2. Urlacher just flat out made a great strip on Edge
and the punt return, that was just awesome
Black Valor - October 23, 2006 08:07 AM (GMT)
Even the best teams have bad days. Everyone needs a bit of luck in their life, so why complain about the Bears having it?
Lucky people get to watch football games. The rest of us have to find out about them afterwards in the newspaper...
