Title: Sickness and in Health...
KuraiKitsune - October 17, 2006 11:53 PM (GMT)
Hey, I've got a question for everyone. ZeroKirby saw what happened to me today, and he can confirm my claim. ^^''
Well, this past weekend, I went to a football game. It rained out, but I got to see the pretty lightning bolts for about fifteen minutes while being drenched in the cold rain before my dad picked me up.
I got sick on Sunday, with a slightly sore throat, before awakening Monday morning with one that made me feel like my throat was rubbed raw with sandpaper. Last night, and worsening this morning, I felt like I was hit by a truck.
I had muscle aches, a killer headache, a sore throat, a hacking cough, sinus problems, swollen lymph nodes, and a lack of balance. All but the last were typical of what I usually get when I'm ill with the flu..
Despite taking cough medicine and ibuprofen, I went to school feeling disoriented. I literally could not walk a straight line (and still can't, as it were. :/) when I was there, and, until lunch, couldn't keep my balance if my life depended on it.
Now, that's what's gotten me confused. How many of you, when ill, found yourself so unbalanced that a friend could tip you over with a casual tap on the shoulder? o.o'' My mother thinks it's got something to do with sinus pressure on the inner ear, but what do you all think?
...I fell three times on the way to my mother's car this afternoon. x.x She took me home, but kept complaining when I fell forward onto the passenger side door. :/

My immune system is not weaksauce. B)
But seriously, try getting more sleep. Sleep never fails.

Yeah. I get sick once a year, twice tops. But sinus may be it. Anything like that can throw off your equilibrium. I got an ear infection and could barely sit up straight.

...I now have a fever. x.x I took ibuprofen an hour ago, so I can't take anything of the sort.
Any home remedies for a fever?

Uhh... lay in bed with a lot of covers. Get really hot and like.. sweat it out.
SpiralStatic - October 18, 2006 03:24 AM (GMT)
Anything that messes with your inner ear messes with your balance, so sinuses are a likely explanation. And, yeah, I have a pretty strong immune system, so I get sick, probably like, once a season, and rarely enough to miss school. Although I get my fair share of sore throats, but that comes from being a band vocalist...

Myself..I tend to get sick about twice in winter and then once per other season and those tend to be mild. I did however have what Kurai has not more then a month ago and lemme tell ya that shit fucks with ya.

When I'm sick, I pass out.

agreed, I do that every time I have a fever and I usually get over it several times faster than anyone in my family

I think Tylenol helps with fevers. I dunno, I never get them. Keep hydrated, though.
I get sick about once a year. This year, though, I've been sick three times. One probably doesn't count because it was motion sickness. :/

I've become that dizzy before...
Eat garlic, and soup. Get a massage. Keep warm. Have lots of vicodi-- I mean, have lots of ibuprofin around. ( ;; ). Sleep. (There's more, sure.. but I took the PSAT this morning, and my brain just doesn't want to function anymore.)
sara13987 - October 18, 2006 08:12 PM (GMT)
Yeah, soup is usually good. Whenever I'm sick, I usually drink ginger ale or 7up that's warm and has all the bubbles gone.
Man, I wanted to try the SAT this year and Dad's all, "No, wait till next year."

Oooh. Canadian Dry Ginger Ale.
Humm... Stay away from salty stuff. See your doctor. Hopefully you're not catching the string of TB that came back.

Funny, when I got an ear infection and sinus problem I never went off-balance... But it is probably different. Yah, I just watch TV when I have a fever...That is because I normally throw up any medication.
Edit: Yes, TB would be bad.
sara13987 - October 18, 2006 09:58 PM (GMT)
Hold on, hold on. What's TB? It was in a damn novel I read and I assumed it was tuberculosis but then she referred to tuberculosis as tuberculosis and not TB so now I'm confused. :/
Moral: "Woman of Labrador" is a stupid book. See my list on why I hate it for further details.

I'm pretty sure I don't have TB. xD
Fever's gone. I'm still going to the doctor tomorrow, though. >.<
SilverGale - October 21, 2006 02:28 PM (GMT)
I have TB =o, it's inactive though, or so the doctor said 3 years ago.
Unless the doctor's awesome, or really, really hot, then they suck D=
