I'm at death and i cant beat him! I found out that a good combo is to have the gaibon familiar gardian soul on and the axe armor bullet soul, and the X button ready with the bat company soul in the Douplganger Soul stash (thats what i call 'em) at his second form when he does the giant skull coming from two directions thingy

It's been a while since I've played. I didn't have any trouble with this, but my bro did with the flying scythes; he used the Persephone soul, which you get in the guest house from that maid-type enemy, to absorb them. It pretty much completely neutralizes that attack.
Other than that I don't really remember the fight, so that's all I can offer. Sorry.

I'm getting Dawn and Aria SO confused right now. However, Death was a pushover in both.

yes, Persephone is very useful against Death. I had good luck with the Amalaric (sp? haven't played in a year or so) Sniper
