Title: My thoughts on Wii...

Yeah, so last night, I went to Gamestop around 11:30, the same Gamestop where I had a wii reserved. They had this cool thing, where you pay anytime, and right at midnight they set you free. So I did that, but first, let me tell you about my experiance.

Sooooo... I get there with my dad, we park, and inside the store, are two employies (on dressed as link, he was a little fruity) and about 10 other people about to pee thier pants they were so excited. I was actually one of the cooler people in the crowd, similar to when I preordered, a bunch of freaks.

At home, I set it up, and actually had to read the manual to figure out a few things, like which way a disk faces when you put it in, and how to sync a new controller to the system. Once I got it up, I had a few problems with the sensor bar not picking up the motions since it was on top of my TV (5"6' off the ground) and there was no room to put it below or in front, but those were all fixed pretty quickly.

Once I fixed all that, it was awesome. The only other problem I had with it starting up, was that there is no way to control the volume in the wiimote, so if you're trying to play it and not wake people up (like I was at 1 A.M.), it's kinda hard. Another thing, in gameplay videos, they always have the blue light lit up, but it's actually not lit up when the wii was on. Not a problem, just doens't look as cool.

Now, to tell you the truth, I wasn't to excited about it. I wasn't jumping around the room like I was when I got my DS (I was a dork...), but this definitally kicks the ass out of everything I've had in the past. You get used the the controllers (which are a lot smaller than you think they'd be) pretty quickly, as well as the gameplay in all the games. So far, Zelda and Wii Sports have both blown me away, and I can't wait to play more... (Can't right now, the chiefs game is on...)

My advice to people who get a wii.
1. Get Zelda if you get a chance, it gets you used to the controllers really quickly.
2. Buy a wii points card when you buy it, because the wii doesn't come with any.
3. There's no need for a memory card for a while.
4. MAKE A FREAKING MII!
5. Don't worry if you have a few technical problems at first, the sensor bar takes a while to get used to, and controllers are jumpy when they have full batteries.
6. Read the manuals. You think you can set it up on your own... you can for the most part, but the manuals are a lot of help.

Overall, it's the coolest thing I've ever had, get one. :D

Does the wiimote use AA's or rechargable?

I camped out at Target last night to get one. Most people didn't start arriving until about 6, though, so I just went to sleep in my car till the line built up. I bought Twilight Princess as my only game, but I played my friend's Red Steel when we got home. It was incredible, except in three player it's way too easy to turn your view because your screen is so small. I'm sure that is not a problem in one player or online, though.

Twilight Princess, so far, has beein incredible. I played it at my friend's house after I picked it up. However, I can't currently play my Wii at home because I don't have the cable adapter for it and my TV doesn't work with AV cords. I should be getting the right cords tomorrow, though.
