Title: Those questions we never get answered
Lades - November 20, 2006 06:31 AM (GMT)
I wanna know all the questions and answers for all the stupid shit people think of but never bother to check on.
1) Way does biting into aluminum foil with a filling hurt?
2) What makes popcorn pop and plain corn...not?
3) What's the biggest grocery store in the US, not including Wal-Mart.
4) Why do really cold things burn, while really hot things don't freeze?
I Have a Sandwich - November 20, 2006 02:44 PM (GMT)
A) Dunno
B) The kernels all have minor water droplets. When they're heated, the wate expands, causing them to 'pop'
C) I'd imagine Target
D) Different boiling and freezing points of elements

has something to do with connecting nerves that touch the filing(s) in way they aren't supposed to be, causing weird signals, translating into pain
Will the Bradys ever get out of those little boxes???

| How are marshmallows made? |
The marshmallow is a confection that, in its modern form, consists of sugar or corn syrup, beaten egg whites, gelatin that has been pre-softened in water, gum arabic, and flavorings, whipped to a spongy consistency. The traditional recipe used an extract from the mucilaginous root of the marshmallow plant, a shrubby herb (Althaea officinalis), instead of gelatin; the mucilage performed as a cough suppressant.

good encyclopedia work. <_<
Hmmm...What would have happened if we had cats instead of turkeys at thanksgiving?
King Kong - November 21, 2006 11:37 PM (GMT)
First of all, hot stuff freezes faster and cold stuff burns faster because of the kinetic energy going through them and the acceleration of their atoms; hot stuff freezes quickly because the atoms are moving so quickly that they react faster to anything, including tempurature, while cold things burn faster because their atoms are moving so slowly that it's almost like they get a running start to burn.
Anyways, if we ate cats instead of turkeys instead of thanksgiving? Hmm, after all of that technical mumbo jumbo, I'm gonna have to say we'd all start eating with chopsticks, our eyes would get squinty, and our penises would shrink.

Even weirder, what about eggs? That person had an interesting mind.
KuraiKitsune - November 22, 2006 12:35 AM (GMT)
Kayoh:  That was mean. I don't do that myself, but that's awfully stereotypical, don't you think? Doesn't mean I didn't get a chuckle out of it, but still. xD
Phoenix: Yeah! :o But at least other animals do that, too. But milk... only babies drink milk. What gave the guy the idea to kill the baby, run over to the cow, and do that himself? o.o
Heey, who first came up with the concept of deities? o.o

If a large tree fell in a forest, but noone was around to hear it, would it make any noise?
 Sorry, couldn't resist.

SpiralStatic - November 22, 2006 01:13 AM (GMT)
@ Puff: Technically, yes. Laws of Physics, the tree would cause molecules of air and other mediums around it to vibrate, thus creating sound. Whether anyone hears it or not is a different story.

Yes, I know. "Laws of Physics" aply EVERYWHERE. But I still think that if noone is around to hear it, then it doesn't make sound. It takes two things to make sound, one for something to make the sound, and the other for someone to hear it.

There's no such thing as "black people music". If you're referring to rap, then it's because it's actually good music. And people call me racist, pfft.

Rap. Sucks.
