Anyone wrestle? This is how my season has gone so far...
First Tournament, Round Robin Style:
Lost my first match to a second round pin. The kid was about as strong as me, had a little more experience, and I was a little timid since it was my first match. If we wrestled again I bet it'd be close.
Second Match: I got pinned in the first round. The kid was just way more experienced.
Third Round: Won by a pin in the second round. I was much stronger than the kid.
Fourth Round: Won 7-0 by points. I was stronger than the kid, but I couldn't pin him.
Fifth round: I got raped. The kid was way more experienced. Pinned in the first round.
First Match:
Got pinned in the first round. The kid was just WAY better than me. Much stronger, too. Best kid I've faced all year.
Next Tourny (double Elim):
First Round: Lost to a kid who was way more experienced, pinned with under 10 seconds left in the first round.
Second round: This one killed me. I was stronger, and more experienced than the kid. I thought I was out of the tourny though, so I went and ate a bunch of shit, then I had to wrestle. I lost by points, although I should've easily won.
Second Match:
This one killed me too. We were about the same experience, he had a little more, I was stronger, my endurance just gave out. I need to work on it. I got pinned with 57 seconds left in the second round :-/
So I'm 2-7. I'm really not that great, but I'm slowly improving. I've stopped reaching back, and been able to more effectively get out of halfs. I just need better endurance now, and I should probably drop 2 or 3 weight classes.
I've never wrestled seriously. My upper body is incredibly weak, although it's getting stronger from the gym. I think I would be insanely good at getting out of pins, though, seeing as I'm extremely flexible. My arms can pop out and go back in, my legs can go at least to 180 degrees, making leg pins not painful for me. If I were to wrestle, I'd need to be much stronger. My endurance is pretty bad, too.
Upper body strength can be made up for with lower body strength if you know how to maneuver your body correctly in wrestling.

Wrestled varsity last year at 155 for awhile then 165. Record at the end of the year was 7-11. Only my second year wrestling. I'm done with it.
