Title: (Child friendly)

This is an old ponderism...

Has anyone else contemplated over what animals think and dream about? I can't seem to wrap my mind around it. They could be more interesting than us in their thoughts and it drives me nuts not knowing, sometimes.

Sometimes I stare at my cat for awhile. She'll be zoned out, with her ears at an angle or twitching. And I just wonder what she's thinking about. And then, when she sleeps, she twitches; like, her face and paws. It's really weird. But I've seen other cats do that, too. I wonder if that's just a dream, or their REM stage, or... I don't know what.

Plans for world domination more likely than not.

It seems most likely that cats and other animals in general do not dream so imaginativly as we humans do, seeing as they aren't as intelligent. However, it is quite possible that some animals do undergo some kind of dream.

My dog barks sometimes when she's dreaming, so I have no clue... she barks at everything. The funny thing though, is when she does bark when sleeping, she wakes herself up.

Same here. Well, my dog doesn't bark mosta the time, but she will make these kinda soft grunt/whine/pant noises which I've always assumed means she thinks she's running. And she'll sometimes wake up afterwards. Actually kinda cute.

I think it'd be cool if they were dreaming about chasing squirrels or sticking their noses down burrows or catching a rabbit or something. My dog's never caught anything in her life - I run better than she does, at least over distances - but one of my friends has a golden retriever that's killed raccoons without getting hurt *jealous*

I don't really like animals dying, so all in all it's a good thing, but it's kinda discouraging to know your dog would be a total phailure in the wild.

My dog snores sometimes. She also barks and whines, although that's rare. I think my dog dreams of chasing things and running; it's her favorite things to do.

I think my dog doesn't fully comprehend the idea of "door" as something you don't try to run through on occasion. But otherwise probably the same sort of dream for her sometimes.

Except sometimes it probably alternates to:
Woof. Hard thing hurts head. Owner moves a thing. Air comes. Owner. Corn cob. Green stuff. Throw. CAN'T CATCH! Ow nose. Where? Where!? SCENT! Eat.

I wonder what goes through my turtle's head.

"KILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLYARGHHUMIESKILLTHEMALLLETMEOUT! Fooooooood..."

Most probably, at least.

REM...do you take Psychology? ;) It's one of my personal favorite classes.

REM=Rapid Eye Movement. For those of you who don't know. This occurs during dreams.

An animals dreams are probably like ours but with their limited intellegence and without the creativity to come up with new concepts.

Yes. I did take psychology. I love it.

Long fuzzy thing (squirrel). Chase. Damn window. Let me out. Need the fuzzy. Up tree. No! Come back!
