Title: How much can you bench press?

Hiei - December 18, 2006 04:27 AM (GMT)
Answer

I personally am not sure what my max is, but I think on a good day I could get 190-195ish...

I can do 10 reps of 135 without much trouble

this is talking about free weight lifting, btw

Blademastersupreme - December 18, 2006 04:49 AM (GMT)
Probably something in the range of 5-6 pounds. That's on a good day.

Dragon_Tam3r - December 18, 2006 02:00 PM (GMT)
2-3 Ounces if i'm lucky :)

It's all in the legs bish >_>

Juan - December 18, 2006 03:55 PM (GMT)
I can do 190 with ease

Puff - December 18, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
Well, hot damn. I know I can lift most of my friends, so a range of 130 to 150.

Then again... I haven't done anything with that for awhile... Perhaps, a more realistic mass would be 80 or 90.

Lades - December 18, 2006 08:39 PM (GMT)
How much is the bar?

45 lbs is standard I believe.

Yeah, I can lift the bar plus a little on a good day. >_>;

My arms are skinny. ;__;

sara13987 - December 18, 2006 08:58 PM (GMT)
I know I can lift 10. ^_^

At the absolute most, I'd say... 80. Never ever tried to lift, actually. I'd rather play basketball in gym than use weights.

SpiralStatic - December 18, 2006 09:25 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't know, I haven't benched in a very long time.

Hiei - December 18, 2006 11:15 PM (GMT)
I got 185 today relatively easy, after working out yesterday, then after my workout today.

Sara, I'd actually be kinda suprised if you could get 80. o-o;

Nate - December 19, 2006 12:04 AM (GMT)
I can do 140!... on a good day...

Well, I can carry my little sister around, and she's between... 60 and 70. Maybe more, it's not really any of my business. Maybe I can't, though. I've never tried lifting.

Lifting your sister is easier than bench pressing. I can carry around my 100 lb-ish little brother

Karn - December 19, 2006 02:10 AM (GMT)
45. @_@ My upper body is too weak.

Esgalglinion - December 19, 2006 07:22 AM (GMT)
Err, when you say bench press, you don't mean just lifting things, right?

I've been able to benchpress of 50kg 10 times (HAH! EUROPEAN MEASUREMENTS, EAT THAT!), although I can lift heavier stuff as well (I'm way stronger than I look? >_>)

50 kg is about... 110. So you could probably max 140ish.

Valter - December 19, 2006 11:04 PM (GMT)
Anything under 200 is easy-peasy. I like 230.

Hiei - December 19, 2006 11:13 PM (GMT)
For some reason I highly doubt that...

Trace Stratus - December 19, 2006 11:19 PM (GMT)
The closest thing I've done to weight lifting is throwing a boulder half my size into a lake.

Why throw a boulder into a lake? Someone might get gurt on it when diving :(

Juan - December 22, 2006 08:49 PM (GMT)
I went to go work out yesterday and i found out I can do 220 with not a lot of trouble.

Hiei - December 22, 2006 11:07 PM (GMT)
I highly highly doubt that.

Considering you're about 17, and you look kinda chubby in your pictures.

Dude, I have a friend that's slightly smaller... He can lift his best friend, and that dude is big... Like... 300lbs. Somethin' around there.

Then theres J-rome, he graduated, methinks. Anyway, he was a football player, liftin' 500+lbs.

As for me, again, 80 to 100 ish... But I can still lift 150+ lbs friends. x_X It's not done on a regular basis, though. Blah, blah, blah...

You're thinking deadlift, not bench press.

I can deadlift a good 400 pounds probably. Deadlifting is something completely different though. There's no one ANY of your friends could bench press a 300 pound human.

You don't look chubby. The strong ones tend to be the ripped mother fuckers.

8 reps of 220 on a good day, if I'm not hung over. Which is rare.

I agreed with Reyde.

And, in my opinion, the "ripped" look is disgusting on anyone. There's a certain point where it looks good, then, after that point it's like "Ewwww, that needs to stop. Now." Example: The BOD commercials. *Shudder* Those guys are totally... ewww.

Juan - December 23, 2006 02:29 AM (GMT)

Just because someone is stronger than you, doesn't mean they're lieing.
Hell, I know this is different, but I could give my 220 lb friend a piggy back ride.

There are no 14 year olds on this planet that can do that. ._.

I just started working out in the weight room this year for baseball (about 4 months). I started off doing the bar, but now I can do 3 sets of 105 easy.

EDIT: Chubby kids can lift lots of weight, the muscle are just hidden.
