so I had a lot of free time today and decided to d/l Firefox hearing it's faster and safer

so far, it's noticeably slower than IE, though :(

I'd assume it's just you. As a test I just opened up this very topic in IE. Loaded about half as fast as FF did just now.

It isn't any faster. o_o; It's the same speed. Tabs are what makes FF better IMO.

Mine's faster... Of course, I've got so many plugins I probably have one or two that make it faster.

IE has tabs too now. XD

I think I recall hearing FF has a slight disadvantage b/c IE is pretty much built into windows; it's what you use to surf your desktop and such.

However I've never noticed any real difference between the two. I've heard both bragged as faster; FF more, but that's prolly just because people like FF more and are inclined to think it's faster.

I pref FF, and use it, but there's no important difference in my mind. It's acceptable, though; if I was going for the best possible I'd learn how to program my own or some BS like htat, but I'm not going into computers so why bother?

Firefox sucks so bad. I like Internet Explorer.

I use IE and never have tried IE. :/ I don't care enough to see if theirs a difference.

I have both. We got FF when Internet Explorer just refused to load. It literally refused, but works now. I prefer FF to it becasue it's more reliable, though. :/

I prefer FF, because there's an IE plugin so you can open a new tab that runs IE inside of FF.

I use IE here, and a Yahoo! DSL browser at my mom's. Yahoo has taps. FF isn't that special, though I've never tried it.

I think they are both the same. I like IE better only because I grew up on it. Also FF supposedly has better pop up blockers and stuff like that. I would like to have both and use FF only until I found a site on the web that I couldn't access while using FF. Like nexon.net for example.

But I think they are pretty much the same otherwise.

Anyways, the speed isn't any different because browsers really don't affect the speed of your internet connection. o_o It's purely preferace. I prefer FireFox just because I've gotten used to it. I guess if IE has tabs now they're about the same really.

Firefox not for the speed, but for the security and the plug-ins.

Like I said, there's a plugin that lets you open IE via a tab in FF. It's how I accessed the maple story page from FF.

I have IE, Net, and FF

I use Firefox pretty much all the time surfin', IE for when the sites make you use non-FF scht-uff, and Netscape with Java games. (For some reasons FF hates Java games on my comp :( )

IMO Netscape looks the coolest, FF is the best, and IE has the most users >_>

Do you even know what I'm talking about? I was comparing it to Yahoo! and its tabs. I've read what you people were saying, and with some it seems they only like it better because of the TABS... But FF isn't the only browser that have tabs. So, it's not that special.

FF was the first one to have tabs. Opera and Yahoo took it from FF. Why do you think the IE that's gonna be released with Vista is supposed to have tabs? Because FF made it popular, as well as numerous other features.

FFTA, I don't play maple that much anymore. I still log on every now and then, but I've only got a lv 10 mage and a lv 14 warrior. :/

I used IE, and my computer crashed twice because of a virus that was let through by it. I use FF now, and it is considerably faster than IE.

EDIT: OSX Leopard will kick vista's ass. Go to the apple site and see a preview, it looks incredible!
