Thats kinda weird. Wasn't KArn an admin back then? He could have logged in as him, forgotten he was logged in as Ultima, and posted.

That was back when Karn was root. They change the name and just hand down the account to the next root, so that was Karn.

So Shadow --> Karn --> Ultima?

I think that's right. I thought alex was root for a little while, but he may have just been admin. If he was root, he kept his own account.
