The reasoning is that I've become less and less interested by the forum, and due to my different style than most the staff I wasn't overly effective. I was more of an extreme action guy, where most the others were the wait and see how things go for a while, then make a decision type. It was too compatible.

When my interest in the site waned, I just left, and then after a while I say 'hmm I'll stop by again after all' and it worked out fine.

Even if you're not interested in modding right now, you shouldn't set yourself against going back again if you want to and the position is offered. But...meh.
