Title: Just to note...

It seems like every name change that's been made recently results in the profile name being changed, but in threads posts by those users are still made under their old names.

I don't think it's that big an issue, and it's probably something with IF, but I wanted to bring it to people's attention.

It's due to the BBCode used in the quote boxes. For example, your post I'm quoting has the opening tag:

CODE
[QUOTE=Severian,Mar 5 2007, 11:23 PM]

It notes the name of the forumer posting, and the posting date/time.

I don't think anyone could do anything about it unless they edit all the quote tags whenever someone makes a name change.

But here's the thing. First off, I've switched my name twice, and I never had these problems. It's a recent thing. If you go here, you can see that while 'Ivan's post still has a quote from "Mr Bucket" my name has changed to "Severian".

However, if you look at this guy's profile, you'll see the name "Evesgallion", and if you look at his topics, they are all shown (even the ones posted as "nate") as being posted by Evesgallion. If you look at an actual post, however, he's "Nate" (even the posts after the name change have him as nate).

I really don't think this is for cereal, but whatever.

I had the same problem with my name changing from King Kong to Pondy. Everything but my posts said "Pondy", and my posts said "King Kong".

It's not a huge deal, just let it go for a few hours/days and it fixes itself. :)

Ya, it's also been resolved for esgal, and mixtil's will probably change arbitrarily as well. A mod can close this if they wish.
