Title: Summer's here...
Description: that means only one thing...
strikeraider827 - June 21, 2007 01:53 PM (GMT)
Well, summer's upon us. Most of us should be stuck with the dreaded summer homework. So, what does everyone have to do? I have to read the Aenied (in English) for AP Latin. I also have The Crucible and The Scarlet Letter for H. Eng. 11.... Yuck. I have to write essays on each of those two. Other than that, all I do is sit and hope I don't get the Satan teachers next year... Wow.
Anybody else?

I decided to take AP Psych, considering it was the last Psych class I could take and I dont feel I learned as much as I wanted to about it. I have horrible work ethic though, so it was a tough choice for me. But I said hey, what the hell. I have a rather large packet of work I have to do from it (this is really the worst part for me, everything else really isnt that bad), read a book that is psychology themed and write a review on it, do the same for two articles, and then I have to take notes on the first two chapters of this AP psych book. I strongly dislike taking notes, most are taken in my head...

Wow, I never get homework over the summer, so I guess I'm pretty lucky. :P But I do have an assload of things I gotta do this year.
First of all, I got Drivers Ed, every day for and hour and a half until Wensday next week (Already had a few weeks of it.) With that I've had to balance the community/summer band, where I'm easily the youngest person by 3 years. That takes up my Monday and Tuesday nights from 4-9. Theeeeennnn, startign in July I have marching band, which is everyday the last two weeks of July, then all of August until school starts. X_X Gonna suck (8-12, 1-4... every day.)
Not homework, but I bet I spend more time at that stuff than you guys and your essays. :P

I don't really have homework I just have to take a Spanish exam in August. It's four easy credits for me :D

Senior Project. Monopoly C++ Program. Should be finished before July.
Other than that, I'm going to, like, you know, actually HAVE a summer vacation.

No summer homework ever, here. <3

I haven't gotten any official homework. However, the principal of my gymnasium has asked me to do an advertising campaign for our school as my school project next year, so I'll have to meet him during the summer. Scary thing is that he's originally french, so he has a scary way of speaking. -_-

Mwaha, no summer homework when you'll be graduating in August... but instead I have Summer SCHOOL... which is crap... utter crap... T_T.. but whatever, it must be done.

I liked the Scarlet Letter! Hawthorne's vocabulary is a bitch, but the book was good, methought. (Lucky us, though, we had to read it in class. =P )
As for homework... none for me, since I'm taking the regular two-part English for senior year.

No summer homework planned...
Of course technically I'm not out of school yet, a week left... final exams...
I did well enough on L.A. expectably, however I question my mark on my French test (I'm a late french immersion student so I take all my classes save gym, L.A., and art in french.), math should be easy enough buht I'm worried about science (Which is tomarrow by the way) and social...
Mostly because my social teacher sucks, albeit I'm just personally bad at french and science.
I hate the summer, you don't see your friends for awhile (Most likely) you realize you're gonna be a grade up next year which means harder work (I'm in a hurry to enter university, but I'd rather skip all these increases in assignments... and I'm scared of leaving university).
Plus the weather... and the fact that its only 2 months...

I'm in college. My summer homework is to cough up enough money to stay another year.
Evesgallion - June 22, 2007 07:14 PM (GMT)
I have 2 books to read... I dunno which books either...
also I have summer school starting on Monday (3 days of summer! WOO!)
Trace Stratus - June 22, 2007 07:14 PM (GMT)
I have to read a novel based on the life of the author's time while in the college I'm going too! ><

I don't have to much homework for my summer vacation. All I have to do is read The Things They Carried for my College Prep English Class. I heard it was a good book to read, so I shouldn't have trouble reading it. I like war books anyways :)
Other than that, it is working for money(I don't like my job to much <_< ), helping my dad with some of his work, and sitting around.

You know...as far as english 11 goes, I feel like mostly everyone who took it and then took Ap Lang and Comp senior year said that AP lang and comp was more work, but was easier to get an A in if you worked your ass off. The reason is that our english 11 teachers do some sort of 'deadly sins of grammar' thing where you get grade level drops for small mistakes. Also, everyone has the same 2 teachers (switch halfway through) and one of them is known for hating pretty much all his students. As far as I understand it, anyway. Our AP lang and comp teacher wasn't as stringent, and if you got things to him in advance he was quick to give help and suggestions.
It's sort of stupid, since real writers don't need to master grammar to get published, and have editors and stuff to work with them. Our high school's writer's room isn't that easy to get help from after freshman year, and parents aren't always amazing editors either. And since MLA citation is required, it's a bitch to get things right because most sources on MLA citations have a differing degree of detail, and sometimes even conflicting opinions on stuff.
I took the AP lang and comp junior year, and our teach kicked ass. It actually made AP lit a shit class by comparison, though the teacher wasn't that bad. Easier, and more importantly....BORING.
I'm friends with the AP latin class, their opinions on the aeneid go from shit to ownage. All I know is that being a sort of roman iliad, it's a lot like homer's epic.

Does your school make you do things in drivers ed? We all had our learners permits, and some of us were even getting our licenses (our scheduling is fucked up). So our teacher said "as long as you're able to pass the test, I don't give a shit whether you're here or not."
I was there most of the time anyway, he's a good guy and the class was stuck between my two hardest classes.

Are you a french person in america? An american dude in france? Or an american guy in america who's taking some sort of french immersion thing? Whichever way, neat. My HS language classes sucked.

The Things They Carried is great to put it simply. :P
