Title: Character Rules.

UnrealBlight - July 12, 2007 01:35 PM (GMT)
We have two topics for character rules, One in the RULES forum; and One in the New Profiles forum.

Exactly which one are we going by?

Saberin - July 12, 2007 02:35 PM (GMT)
...whats the differance? They're all basicly copy and pastes of eachother, only I think one of them has a few glitchs fixed by the other...

Hm...

Okiro - July 12, 2007 02:53 PM (GMT)
Blight and I were talking earlier about how Pondy was pointing out mistakes in profiles, one of which was that the cap of critical on custom weapons in one of them is 25, and in the other it doesn't mention one. Also, this is the same with might caps on custom weapons. This caused a problem where like 5 people messed up on the custom weapon.

I'm pretty sure that's what he meant, but also I think some other problems might exist. I think he's asking about which is correct.

Thanks. As soon as I saw the post on metus, I knew there was some other character rules topic besides the one in profiles, but I was confused about where exactly it was.

are there supposed to be caps for the custom weapons? I seem to remember there being some, but they aren't there now
No. Create it however you want.

UnrealBlight - July 12, 2007 09:44 PM (GMT)
So, we're just ignoring him, and using the one in New Profiles?

SeverIan. - July 12, 2007 10:13 PM (GMT)
We are doing whatever staff says to clarify these paradoxical rules.

I <3 paradoxes.

My inclination would be to use the new profiles topic b/c I like the idea of having caps on custom weaps. On the other side, if a convincing argument can be made that no caps is better, the bright side of using that rule is that you don't have to change anything because there would be no violations of a "no caps" rule. As long as the FT doesn't require people to delete characters w/ violations of this rule, remake them, and wait for them to be approved again, and instead does something like require people to change their custom weapons (I'd be happy to check through and make sure no weapons had above 13 might, above 25 crit, etc) I don't particularly care what happens.

Sorry for the double post, but I thought it was worth doing so people would read this.

The character rules in the new profiles section are now in line with the character rules in the "rules" forum section, so we're good.

Hyper - July 13, 2007 01:00 AM (GMT)
Okay, I have a problem with the cap. The rules in the profile section are the ones anyone logical would go by when making their profile. I BUILT my character around my custom weapon. If I have to reduce it because you suddenly have a cap, my character is ruined.

SeverIan. - July 13, 2007 01:07 AM (GMT)
Beforehand, there was a cap according to one rule set and no cap according to the other.

Now, there is no cap on custom weapon stats according to both rule sets.

If people who built their weapons based on thinking there WERE stats caps want to modify them, they should probably ask for permission to modify custom weap stats ASAP if they want any chance of a 'preferred' setup.

Hyper - July 13, 2007 01:36 AM (GMT)
Okay good. My weapon went over the cap. No problems.

Pondy - July 13, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
There ARE caps for weapons. It was my fault, I copied the wrong version of the rules and pasted it into the right version, so it made them both wrong.

Amended. Sorry for the confusion. -_-

Hyper - July 13, 2007 02:58 AM (GMT)
Pondyyyy! That totally messes up my character!

It's not my fault you tried to "break the system". I can't stand it when people do that. -_-

Hyper - July 13, 2007 03:05 AM (GMT)
...So my instant death character is the reason you added the caps? >_>

UnrealBlight - July 13, 2007 03:16 AM (GMT)
I'd say it's an example why it was changed.

There's a few other characters before you, that made their custom more deadly :P

Hyper - July 13, 2007 03:46 AM (GMT)
I don't think always killing is something you can get more deadly than <_<

UnrealBlight - July 13, 2007 04:09 AM (GMT)
Yours doesn't always kill though :P
