Title: Question about judging...

Alright.

If we're averaging two RN's, and they average to .5 higher than the max hit rate of the person (for instance, you have a 70 chance to hit and the average of the rns is 70.5) do you round down and say hit, or say it's higher and say miss?

The battle I'm judging right now is ok anyway - it's with a mirror, so his uses don't matter, and the "real" character wins regardless of whether his mirror hits or not. But for the future, I'd like to know.

Also, do we count misses w/ hand axes etc as uses? I know they weren't counted as uses in FE9 but I don't know about other FEs, or about FEW.

Everything else gets rounded down, so I'd go ahead and do the same there. And hand axe uses only count when it hits.

Actually, in that case I usually round up with the decimals. It's only a .5 round down in calculations because you shouldn't be getting a free point. But I usually round up, even with my characters when I judge.

For now I'm rounding down because I'm judging a match w/ me against another PC, the same thing just happened. It would be in my favor to round up to 81 and say that my opponent just missed, but I'll do it the other way so it's clear my decision isn't biased by my circumstances (ok, honestly I think I'll win this one anyway, but still...).

But is there an actual rule one way or the other about what I should do? I mean, you're both g-mods, so I can't just say "meh one's right just cuz I feel like it."

EDIT-By the by, I actually lost the match because one of my character's attacks missed :P

Well from what I've seen over the years everyone rounds down (I just check to see if it's higher or not than hit and if it's the same then I round down.) One of the first sentences I read when I came here was forget all math and round down.
