The first book is really good. You are right about most of the rest seeming to drag on forever though. IMO, the first book is the best of the lot.
Also he just published a prequel to the WoT where Moraine Damodred and her warder are explained in more detail (who were they before they became all so high and mighty).

i dunno the Dragon Reborn is pretty good, although it seems really stupid that he doesn't finish it off in this book, like Rands already going crazy and theres ATLEAST 10 books (i haven't counted yet) so i dunno, and whats the book called? cause i might wanna pick that up, Moraines superiority is really annoying.

Actually she was very much like what'shername, the village wisdom from Emond's Field. Lan wanted nothing to do with Aes Sedai. He was trying to go get himself killed in the blight.
I don't remember the name right off, but I'll try to get it at the library again.
