What are your thoughts on this disturbed genius? I think he was one of the greatest american authors EVER. The Raven, Curse of the Red Death, Pit and the Pendulum, Tell Tale Heart, House of Usher, and many more. We're starting to read his works Monday...Anyone have any thoughts?

I don't care much for his work. Although, I do love "Cask of Amontillado". That story is brilliant.

The Cask of Amontilado is just sorta strange, not horribly bad but not awesomely good, or at least that's what I think

edgar allen poe was born near us
by a route obscure and lonely
haunted by ill angels only
where an idoline named night
in a black throne reigns upright
i have wandered here but newly
from an ultimate dim thewly
from a wild climb i lithe sublime
out of space out of time
first verse of dreamland
i used to have the entire thing memorized
