Title: Books?

grondring - November 22, 2004 01:28 AM (GMT)
What kind o' books do ye like to read, laddies?

EDIT: And lasses. Stupid me.

'Ivan - November 22, 2004 01:30 AM (GMT)
Goodness, TWO topics in the wrong forum on that within an hour! What's wrong with you?

Moved to BGMaM.

grondring - November 22, 2004 01:31 AM (GMT)
What was the first?

... oh, the SE thing, huh? Sorry, I am sorta distracted.

'Ivan - November 22, 2004 01:33 AM (GMT)
Right. I really want to get the chance to read the Series of Unfortunate Events sometime.

grondring - November 22, 2004 01:34 AM (GMT)
I read all of 'em in like a month and then forgot about them. I would read Grim Grotto, but I'm too cheap to buy it and my library doesn't have it yet.

Who's read Keys to the Kingdom?

Axem Titanium - November 22, 2004 01:34 AM (GMT)
I read the first 5 and then the 9th. They're all basically the same though. It's a shame.

grondring - November 22, 2004 01:35 AM (GMT)
Yes, all with slight variations.

I ask again: Has anyone read Keys to the Kingdom?

Axem Titanium - November 22, 2004 01:38 AM (GMT)
You know I have. We've already had an FEW conversation about it.

grondring - November 22, 2004 01:40 AM (GMT)
I know. I'm curious if anyone else has.

I think it's good, but it's not as good as it could have been because either Nix is going out of his way to make it appeal to kids...

... or he's just a bad writer.

Axem Titanium - November 22, 2004 01:41 AM (GMT)
But it's funny and random with lots of stupid puns like Piers Anthony. That's why I like it.

grondring - November 22, 2004 01:41 AM (GMT)
Stupid puns? Where?

Axem Titanium - November 22, 2004 01:42 AM (GMT)
I don't know. I just remember there being stupid puns.

grondring - November 22, 2004 02:13 AM (GMT)
I don't remember any.

Karn - November 22, 2004 03:23 AM (GMT)
I read fantasy books or meaningfull books and books for school.

My favorite book list in order so far
Siddhartha
His Dark Materials Trilogy
Childhood's End (havn't finished it yet)
The Last Unicorn (havn't finished it yet)
That's all I can think of right now

grondring - November 22, 2004 03:41 AM (GMT)
What's Siddhartha about? Buddha?

Karn - November 26, 2004 04:21 PM (GMT)
(late reply) It's about a man's search for nirvana, which does have some buddhism in it. It's very meaningful
