Title: Talkback
grondring - December 18, 2004 06:44 AM (GMT)
If there's any TV shows or movies or book or anything you've absorbed and would like to talk about, go ahead and rant here. I have a rant for the 17th's Gundam Seed and given tomorrow I'll probably have lots of comments on FMA and GITS, but you get a preview with my GS comments.
1. KIRA ROCKS! He's stopped being a stupid whiny angsty teenager and started being an awesome dude overall. I would rank him among Kenshin and Vash in his pacifistic power, if not for the fact that most of it comes from his berserkerness and the Freedom.
The Freedom's wings remind me of something...
2. I'm kinda irritated by the Earth Forces' plan. Mostly, though, I'm irritated because I know that if I were in their place I probably would have concocted the exact same point. So, then, what makes me so different from corrupt, immoral dudes like them? I'm going to stay awake tonight thinking about that one...
EDIT: BAM! I got it! I remember what they remind me of! The seraphim, the highest choir of angels, who have, well, I don't remember the exact number, but they have an obscene number of wings and I always imagined them looking pretty much exactly like what the Freedom's wings looked like.

1.) Yes, i agree. But if Kira rejoins the Earth Forces or Zaft...I'll kill him!
2.) There idea was sickening. Kira did the right thing though...
3.) What's with that pun title for the next episode? 'The Price of Justice' or something like that. We all know Athrun gets Justice next ep, right?

I didn't. Thanks a lot for spoiling it for me. <_<

The book Things Fall Apart is the worst book I have ever read. Any tenth graders out there, fear that you will have to read it due to it being in the curriculum.

It's about an African tribe that missionaries go to and screw up there ways with the new ways. It has a pretty good meaning but the person who wrote it's style sucks in my opinion, and it was droned out and uninteresting.
grondring - December 19, 2004 12:46 AM (GMT)
Lemme guess, it was written in the late 1800's, early 1900's to attack the imperialist policies of Europe.
Axem Titanium - December 19, 2004 01:32 AM (GMT)
Seraphim have 8 wings.
To keep Sephiroth groupies interested: Sephiroth is the one-winged angel because he's missing his 8th wing (and therefore not a true Seraphim), not because he only has one wing (like those stupid Kingdom Hearts scriptwriters think).
grondring - December 19, 2004 01:56 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I could have found that out either by looking it up on Wikipedia or just looking at my Dictionary of Angels, but, of course, I'm too lazy to.
Sephiroth is a seraphim? Yeesh, he's ridiculously weak then. Metatron or Michael could defeat him without batting an eye.

Correct.
grondring - December 19, 2004 02:05 AM (GMT)
Hah! I'm a genius! A genius, I say! Bwahahahahaha!
Axem Titanium - December 19, 2004 02:25 AM (GMT)
You're full of yourself.
Of course they could since they're full-blooded angels. Sephiroth is just a pathetic shadow of a clone.
grondring - December 19, 2004 02:26 AM (GMT)
Ooh, I can't wait for Strike to see this topic... =evil grin=

Just did...
AND.SO.IS.THAT.LOSER.HECTOR.
Damn, I've wanted to say that for awhile. SCREW HECTOR THE LOSER!!!
grondring - December 19, 2004 02:31 AM (GMT)
This is going to be very, very entertaining. =settles back to watch Strike and AT duke it out=

Hmm..I'm ready...
grondring - December 19, 2004 02:36 AM (GMT)
Though it appears AT is studiously avoiding this topic.
Axem Titanium - December 19, 2004 02:46 AM (GMT)
No, I'm not. I'd say Sephiroth and Hector would end up killing each other if they fought.
Sephiroth would get weapon advantage with Masamune against Hector with Armads, but Armads gives +5 Defense so Sephiroth's Masamune would do basically nothing. On the other hand, Hector would be able to kill Sephiroth in one or two hits, if he actually manages to hit him.
grondring - December 19, 2004 02:47 AM (GMT)
Are we talking about pre-Meteor Sephiroth or post-Meteor Sephiroth?
Axem Titanium - December 19, 2004 02:53 AM (GMT)
There really isn't much different between their powers.
grondring - December 19, 2004 02:55 AM (GMT)
Post-Meteor Sephiroth has wings.
Axem Titanium - December 19, 2004 02:59 AM (GMT)
You have wings! I'm so scared!
grondring - December 19, 2004 03:01 AM (GMT)
1. He can fly, making it near impossible for Hector to hit him.
2. He can smack Hector with his wings or otherwise use them to disorient him. Do you know how hard it is to concentrate when you have to sort out seven wings flapping around and tossing feathers everywhere?
3. Wings look cool.
Axem Titanium - December 19, 2004 03:06 AM (GMT)
Who's side are you on?
1. Yet somehow, Hector can hit Wyvern Riders/Lords and Pegasus/Falcoknights just fine.
2. See above.
3. No argument here.
grondring - December 19, 2004 03:20 AM (GMT)
Strike's not on, so I'm playing devil's advocate. Er, not that Strike's the devil or anything.
1. That's because he waits for them to get close to the ground. Sephiroth can just fly up high, wait patiently, and then throw the masamune, impaling Hector.
2. That's because pegasi and wyverns are too dumb to utilize their wings effectively.
3. Good.
Axem Titanium - December 19, 2004 03:26 AM (GMT)
1. Does the Masamune have a range greater than 1? And is it even possible to throw a 7+ foot sword accurately from so high up?
2. And Sephiroth isn't?
3. Wings are awesome.
grondring - December 19, 2004 05:29 AM (GMT)
1. We're talking about real battling, not RPG battling. And yes, it is, if you're Sephiroth.
2. Sephiroth is cunning. Demented and genocidal, yes, but still cunning.
3. Especially when you have seven of 'em.
Axem Titanium - December 20, 2004 12:11 AM (GMT)
1. We are? Oh. Anyway, Hector can still dodge it since it loses accuracy at such a distance.
2. Hector is... dense, paranoid and loud?
3. Amen.
grondring - December 20, 2004 12:41 AM (GMT)
1. So? Sephiroth still has excellent aim.
2. How is that relevant?
3. Yup yup.
Axem Titanium - December 20, 2004 02:07 AM (GMT)
1. Despite great aim, Hector either dodges or gets hit and takes basically no damage whatsoever.
2. I was describing Hector like you described Sephiroth.
3. This no longer exists.
grondring - December 20, 2004 02:12 AM (GMT)
1. A seven foot long sword can easily pierce Hector's armor.
2. I only described Sephiroth that way because I was attempting to show his intelligence since you had previously compared it to that of a pegasus.
3. I like wings.

grondring - December 20, 2004 03:00 AM (GMT)
Axem Titanium - December 20, 2004 03:31 AM (GMT)
1. Says Hector's Armor of Awesomeness.
grondring - December 20, 2004 04:08 AM (GMT)
1. Well, Sephiroth's Insane Strength says you're wrong.

grondring - December 20, 2004 07:42 PM (GMT)
Consider it broken. And hey, I was fighting on Sephiroth's side! Isn't that great?

Haha. Grondy's a good doggy who's sparring with me.
