Title: STUMP THE GRONDY!

grondring - December 19, 2004 07:03 AM (GMT)
Now answering questions from Fullmetal Alchemist (manga), Hellsing (manga), Venture Bros., and Fire Emblem (story questions only). Bring it on, see if you can stump me.

Karn - December 19, 2004 07:17 AM (GMT)
Is Sonia a morph or not?

grondring - December 19, 2004 07:17 AM (GMT)
Yes.

Karn - December 19, 2004 07:20 AM (GMT)
Can you prove it?

grondring - December 19, 2004 07:24 AM (GMT)
No because I don't have a script in front of me, but I recall there being massive amounts of circumstantial evidence and possibly a few pieces of solid evidence.

Karn - December 19, 2004 07:28 AM (GMT)
Ok.

grondring - December 19, 2004 07:29 AM (GMT)
Any other questions? Try some FMA.

Karn - December 19, 2004 07:33 AM (GMT)
I know very little about FMA. Is the Holy Maiden(the S staff in FE6, I don't know if that is the name) a legendary weapon?

grondring - December 19, 2004 07:38 AM (GMT)
Define "legendary".

Karn - December 19, 2004 07:46 AM (GMT)
One of the eight divine general weapons.

grondring - December 19, 2004 07:52 AM (GMT)
Nope.

Karn - December 19, 2004 08:15 AM (GMT)
Darn your good.

grondring - December 19, 2004 08:15 AM (GMT)
Ask some FMA questions, dammit! Even ones you don't know the answers to! I must test my FMA merit!

Karn - December 19, 2004 08:29 AM (GMT)
What are all the laws of alchemy?

grondring - December 19, 2004 08:32 AM (GMT)
... okay, I meant reasonable questions, nothing along the lines of "name all the members of Scar's clan" or "what are all the laws of Alchemy".

I do know, however, that Alchemy is broken up into three parts: knowledge, deconstruction, creation.

Knowledge - you understand the elements that make up a substance.

Deconstruction - you break down that substance to those raw elements.

Creation - you use those raw elements to build another substance.

Those aren't exactly laws, but they're the closest thing I can come up with.

Karn - December 19, 2004 08:33 AM (GMT)
I meant like

1.To create something you must first give up something of equel value.

grondring - December 19, 2004 08:37 AM (GMT)
Oh, the Law of Equivalent Exchange? The Law of Equivalent Exchange is the principal law of Alchemy, plus what I dub unofficially the Law of Don't Transmute Humans or Else God Will Get Mad at You and Hurt You. There are probably also billions of sublaws that don't matter much in the big scheme but which are still important.

Karn - December 19, 2004 08:38 AM (GMT)
I was wondering if you new all of the other laws.

grondring - December 19, 2004 08:39 AM (GMT)
None of them have ever been even talked about, and it's not like I'm secretly an Alchemist or anything.

strikeraider827 - December 19, 2004 12:46 PM (GMT)
stumping time...

1. name all seven homunculi and where their tattoo of Oruboros is.
2. Is Shou Tucker evil? Why or why not?
3. What are the names of the Elric's father and mother?
4.Alphose or Edward, which is older?
5. Discribe the transmutation circle that Tim Marco tried to use to kill Lust.
6. How many ranks are there in the military?
7. I've me a summary of episode 13, Falme v. Fullmetal.
8. discibe in DETAIL the transmutation circle that the homunculi were created from.

Now answering questions from Fullmetal Alchemist (manga)...

1. The Seven Sins: Lust, Gluttony, Envy, Greed, Wrath/Anger, Sloth, Pride. Where their tattoos are differs depending on whether you're talking about the manga or the anime.

2. It can be argued either way. This is purely opinion. I, for example, don't think he was evil because he wasn't intentionally malicious, he was just callous with lives. As such the question isn't a particularly good one.

3. Hohenheim and Trisha.

4. Ed is.

5. Square in a circle. I assume it was that simple because he was drawing it with his blood and he probably didn't have time to make anything more complex.

6. How many ranks are there period, or how many ranks do characters in the show have?

7. Ed fights Roy.

8. It's the thing at the beginning of the show which is the background for the title. It's really complex and has like two circles on the outside, an inverted triangle on the inside, and lots of other scribbling around.

grondring - December 19, 2004 11:26 PM (GMT)
What, you want more? Ed fights Roy for his annual State Alchemist assessment. He succeeds in tearing one of his spark gloves by transmuting a cannon. However, Roy has another one and easily destroys the cannon and is about to take out Ed when he gets a flashback from the Ishbal Campaign. Before he can recover, the battle is called off because they've pretty much annihilated the parade ground.

Haha! I have crushed all opposition underfoot! Come and fall beneath my mighty intellect of trivial things!

Axem Titanium - December 20, 2004 01:09 AM (GMT)
How powerful is the Sword of Seals in relation to the Divine General Weapons (according to the story)?

Durendal - December 20, 2004 01:15 AM (GMT)
hmmmmmmmmmm how about:

give the wep vitals of every legendary wep you come across in Fe 6&7 plus where you get them (this isn't a hard one)

give a summary of chapters 11 14 16X and Final:Light the first part for FE. ha try those, (i'm gonna be crushed underfoot arn't i?)

grondring - December 20, 2004 02:01 AM (GMT)
To AT: It's a weapon greater than the Divine General weapons.

To Dur: Firstly, I said I do story questions. Second, what do you mean by vitals? Third, in FE7 you get Durandal, Aureola, Forblaze, and Armads at the final chapter. Fourth, in FE6 you get 'em all in side quests. Fifth, what do you mean by "summary"?

Axem Titanium - December 20, 2004 02:48 AM (GMT)
Even I could answer those... if I remembered what happened in those chapters without either consulting a guide or actually getting to them again.

grondring - December 20, 2004 02:49 AM (GMT)
My memory's not that great...
