Title: DragonRiders of Pern

A really good seiries by AnneMcCaffery. Start with Dragonquest and DragonFlight. The books are about a planet, much like Earth, called Pern. Pern is a technologically inept planet, with one thing going for them. DRAGONS. The dragons fight off a organic matter consuming parasite, called thread, which drops from the skies every 40-50 turns. Turns are years. The stories are well written, and the books are around 400-550 pages long, with no pictures, and smallish text.

I've read about nine of the books, they are very good.
You should start with

Yeah, The humans are somewhat portrayed, in the begining, as evil people. Or was that the Dragon riders?

there are different characters in each book. and I said look past it FF, I know the site is terrible, just give it a chance, will ya?

The first book is about a girl named Lessa, and how she obtains and mates for the first time, her queen. The queeens are a gold dragon, and they are the biggest.

Yeah, Anne McAfferey is a very good writer, she portrayed so many good characters.

I agree, I've read all but the last one (including a few of the spin-oofs) looking for masterharper of Pern ATM and also the last one (they all rock) and yes, bronze do kick donkey (poor donkey)
