Title: Are we alone in this universe?
Description: You know it had to come sometime.
'Ivan - January 30, 2005 07:27 PM (GMT)
You knew this had to come sometime.
Do YOU realistically (not jokingly) believe in visitors from other planets?
Durendal - January 30, 2005 07:28 PM (GMT)
its entirely possible but think about it, if there was an alien race advanced enough to travel in space at a fast enough pace to make it worthwhile then why would they visit us?
'Ivan - January 30, 2005 07:30 PM (GMT)
Karn - January 30, 2005 07:47 PM (GMT)
Yes I believe in aliens. Statistically if the universe is infinite their must be another habitable planet out there. Whether they are more advanced than us, or one-million years underevolved is the question though.

I seriously just realized that.
SaintHermit - February 15, 2005 05:48 AM (GMT)
The only thing I don't like about the idea of other species on other planets is that they all know about eachother and thier customs.. in movies that is..
Human 1: What is this thing you call a forborgyazayamek?
Alien 1: duh everyone knows what a forborgyazayamek is .. idiot..
Taoma - February 15, 2005 07:20 PM (GMT)
I beleive in Pokemon and Cards comming to life...
dark menace - February 15, 2005 09:23 PM (GMT)
All I gots to say is that if we're alone in the galaxy, well, thats one hell of a waste of space
Axem Titanium - February 15, 2005 10:22 PM (GMT)
The sum of all matter in the universe divided by all the space in the universe results in an average of 2 atoms per cubic light year. Therefore, the universe really is a huge waste of space.
Taoma - February 15, 2005 10:27 PM (GMT)
I beleive in a lot of things, you people would think im even more crazy
Karn - February 15, 2005 10:28 PM (GMT)
It seems unrealistic for there to be nothing else living in the universe, even if it is just bacteria.
Lord Of The End Times - March 14, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
i give it an almost possitive chance that there are other life forms like bacteria. i give it a really good chance that there are animals. i give it a fair chance that there are intellegent life forms capable of civilisation. i give it an unlikly chance that there are aliens smarter than us. and i give it a very unlikly chance they can get to us.
but the universe is a big place
Severian - March 22, 2005 09:40 PM (GMT)
Nah, I don't think so, but I'm sure that the other species are either:
A-As screwed up as we are.
B-Going to destroy Earth as soon as they see us.
By the way, don't pay to much attention to various reports on alien life-I attended a lecture on this guy who had worked on one of the recent Mars Landings...he said that even though that the studies made it seem very unlikely there was ever life there, but that the New York Times ran an article by someone who obviously misunderstood the situation-basically, the article made it seem like there was a good chance bacteria life had once existed there.
In fact, while I like some parts of the New York Times, sometimes they get their articles completely wrong. I guess that's just one of those problems with big Newspapers-they write on so much, they don't have time to get everything actually right!
Míxtil_<3_fish! - March 22, 2005 09:42 PM (GMT)
bear in mind the uniferse is infinate..and that scientisth havent even explored our whole galaxy..and there are over 2 billion recorded galaxies..i think so
dark menace - March 22, 2005 10:26 PM (GMT)
Not to mention wormholes, if there are such things
Míxtil_<3_fish! - March 22, 2005 10:27 PM (GMT)
yes. and blackholes, and whiteholes.
Axem Titanium - March 23, 2005 03:22 AM (GMT)
But 2 atoms per cubic light year doesn't sound too promising to me.
Fenix - March 23, 2005 03:46 AM (GMT)
i still dont think we are alone, i mean......... well i doubt any one belives in UFO's if so then well there you go we are not alone
Severian - March 23, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
Ya, Axem, but then again, how many cubic light years are there in the universe? Besides, there's naturally going to be tons of space between planets and such-I mean, look at our solar system, there are a few spots of condensed matter (the planets and the sun) and then a bunch of empty space. But we've still got one planet with life.
The Entertainer - March 23, 2005 04:12 AM (GMT)
If we ARE the only living things in the universe, then we're really crapping on the privledge. :hopping: :hopping:

Lord Of The End Times - March 24, 2005 12:56 AM (GMT)
what's the point of having a fertile planet if you can't abuse it?
have you noticed our planet has so many different types of terrain compared to other planets?
Axem Titanium - March 24, 2005 03:48 AM (GMT)
Don't go creationist on me, please.
