Title: Do you feel it is easy to forgive others...
Description: But difficult to forgive yourself?

I feel that whenever my friends and family do something maybe wrong and ask for forgiveness, I always find it easy to forgive them, even if it was something that hurt me, or caused me pain. But, whenever I do something wrong, I always find it so hard to ask for one's forgiveness, or to even forgive myself for that matter, it always makes me feel that i've done something terribly wrong, and that I don't deserve that person's forgiveness and re-acceptance. This makes me think, how do you think people performing much larger crimes such as murder, theft, or even rape feel, after doing something so unexcusable, and now have a criminal record, and even been warned about by authorities, or even been sent to prison or jail? I can't even imagine what they would be thinking about right now. What are you opinions?

I feel the same as you. Its easy for me to forgive others. I feel good when I forgive others of something they did to me. Then again, it really hurts me when I do something wrong and they are chewing me out. I feel like they'll never forgive me, and if I do ask forgivness,I think they'll just chew me out more on how they think that I'm stupid because I asked for forgiveness. It's also hard for me to forgive myself of a more serious problem, like breaking my mom's old seramic (how ever you spell that) lamp that costs 20,000 dollars. It's something I can't just easily buy or get back. Well, that's how I feel about forgiveness.

Same here, too. I can forgive almost everybody for whatever it is, but, most of the time, I can't so it right away. After I give myself time to cool down and reflect, I often realize what I did was wrong and apologize. -_-

But, for larger crimes... Alot of criminals go out and commit even more after they're let out. Maybe they've learned to ignore their conscience, or, they think it's right. They'd probably be sorry if the unintentionally hurt someone, but, I really don't know...

I can personally forgive anyone for anything. I can empathize with criminals as potential products of society, and feel sorry that there are radical terrorists who think blowing themselves up, and me too, will somehow get them into paradise.

However, I know that we have to enforce laws to show that we will do something in response to crime, so we have to fight back against illegality and injustice.

I judge myself as I would any other person...but I can fully accurately judge myself because I know my own thoughts, so I can decide whether I'm right or wrong without input from others (in general). If I commited murder in cold blood, I don't think I'd ever forgive myself...and yet, I don't think me as I am now would ever do that. However, I don't do things to hurt others...if I do something wrong, it's out of forgetfulness more than anything else - I miss some appointment, a get-together, whatever else.

I think there are some criminals who do violent acts without necessarily meaning to hurt or kill people - but sudden flushes of anger make them do things they regret. Simply because they regret it, though, doesn't mean we can forgive them. If we started judging based on likihood the person will commit another crime, anyone who can fool the Jury can just sob and pretend guilt until they win their case.

My temper... in real life, if you piss me off, you have one fucking annoying person on your back.

Other way around.

What's sad is...I do! I got in a fight with my brother, like an actual fight, and then ten minutes later we're laughing playing videogames...but when I make a mistake I spend all night thinking about it in my bed...wow am I confusing!

If you can't listen to your conscience, how can you listen to others?

Don't wear a cloak of guilt because others are evil
