dinosor - April 1, 2004 08:04 AM (GMT)
what type of anti chlorine is much better
1.aquaplus
2. prime
3. gensis<- forgot how to spell

fishyman - April 1, 2004 08:14 AM (GMT)
haha...

Prime neutralises ammonia...

as for which is better...i have no comments lah.. :D

King Almond - April 1, 2004 08:40 AM (GMT)
After breaking the chloramine bond, prime reduces the chlorine to chloride and complexes with ammonia- which eventually will be eaten up by bact or plant.

For the rest, i think they prob lock the amm, then slowly release it gradually.By them the bact wld have already been established, or drained away.

if prime asborb ammonia , the bbs will die eventually.. is it?

King Almond - April 2, 2004 02:53 AM (GMT)
AMM is all present in the tank. When u test it and result shows 0, it means the amm level not high enuff to be dectected.Same goes for prime. It iwll not touch the low level of amm yet.AND that amt of amm is enuff for our bact to eat.

Dino, Prime does NOT absorb ammonia.

It turns it from the harmful state(ammonia NH3) to the harmless state(ammonium NH4).

BUT, BB can still use the ammonium to food.

Please correct me if i'm wrong...read this quite sometime ago...

For the info, Tetra's Aquasafe(Blue bottle) does nt rid chloramine. Only the red bottle(forgot its name) gets reid of chloramine.($30 at C328).

Thus again, Prime may be the best after all.

Seachem Prime is a good anti-chlorine/chloramine that neutralises ammonia

and even reduces nitrites and nitrates!

Worth a try and it's very economical too! :D

King Almond - May 31, 2004 09:07 AM (GMT)
