which 1?? from your room transfer out that 1?

me feed quite a lot of food to my luohan..
powerhorn , kisso and oceanfree xo humpy head ..
everyday different brand for lunch(provided i am at home during afternoon)
if my sch end late, then no lunch for him liao..
dinner will be 4 cubes of bloodworms, everyweek there will be 1 or 2 days pellet day which means no bloodworm for him ..hehe.. sometime supper, throw in sinking wafer , parwn stick etc..

my luohan hate to change water.. haha.. everytime i wan to use a net to block him aside for me to change water, it will get angry and splash water.. if i never use net , it will bite the gravel washer..

fishyman - August 28, 2004 06:32 PM (GMT)
wooooooo!!!

I'll reat my LH nice nice for sure!!

DIno, did you chk the food's expiry date? U 've been feeding these things for a long time rite??

I feel like getting some new food for the LH. any suggestions? want to try centipedes leh...dunno he'll like or not?

dinosor - August 29, 2004 03:58 PM (GMT)
expiry date? ooo.. never check.. gonna check 2molo..
ya lor. been feeding them for 1 to 2 years already..
erm.. try powerhorn lor.. kisso is ash last time intro me..
hikari flowerhorn for me is a nono.. after a period of time the fish reject it.. dunno why..

jewel - August 30, 2004 01:15 AM (GMT)
hi guys :)

my relatives came and said my fish was fat....like me...sigh!

my fish doesn't eat a lot (but i do :P) dunno why so fat...could it be the vitamins I add in the arosticks? she doesn't like the hikari bloodworms ley..only eat arosticks...and not many at that though more recently eversince the move to the new place...

King Almond - August 30, 2004 07:45 AM (GMT)
wow man..now i am feeding mainly aro sticks and sometimes nutrafin pellets. Lh craze went down, so did their food. Nowdays, there are no lh pellet brand comign up at all. Sad man..haa..Centipede is a bloddy rich source of protein. Have to cut the head, and tail, as well as thier legs b4 feeding. Super worms..

dinosor - August 30, 2004 08:38 AM (GMT)
why must cut away?
ya lo.. almost all those shop tat is selling luohan close down..
some covert to tropical fishes shop..
i believe 328 still have right? polyart .etc.. try asking hl23 lo..

jewel, almost every fishes eats bloodworm.. seldom reject..
every check on yr water quality?
anyway what brand of anti chlorine did u use?? just curious..hehe..
fish fat then good ma.. hehe..

fishyman - August 30, 2004 03:38 PM (GMT)
Wowee!!

Almond, no need to cut of the feet and head of the centipedes. Those sold in LFS has got their poisonous fangs plucked out. :P

BUt the 'ya gangs' are damn ex. and cannot keep for long. So i suggest if u guys want to get, can get the frozen ones, although not so shiok lah...ahhaa...

Yah lor, LH craze is all gone...is holland23 still in the business? maybe also close down liao??

jewel - August 31, 2004 01:06 AM (GMT)
eeee...centipede oso can eat meh?

anyway, am using just easy-life... :)

dinosor - August 31, 2004 02:15 AM (GMT)
:laugh2: hl23 still doing business.. i think philipines flowerhorn craze still very hot.. then his new KGM selling hot there .. i think ah.. see in aro de..
he just move into a farm i think.. almond can give a full detail on this..

wah jewel using easy life ah.. hi^5 man..haha.. i still got 2 bottle after finish , i dun wan to use liao.. budget tight..haha..

King Almond - August 31, 2004 05:57 AM (GMT)
They cut , so as not to hurt the aro's stomach in any way. The same reason as why they drown superworms before feeding. So that the worm will be able to hurt the fish in anyway.

King Almond - September 3, 2004 12:31 PM (GMT)
Knn,
Another of my fish ken aick again. CJB\
Why man?? Al lmy fishes have kena one by one.

The only thing I have changed is the size of my tank and the conditioner to Amquel. I have thrown away Amquel, which I heavily suspect is the problem. the fishes just dont take to it.

dinosor - September 3, 2004 01:02 PM (GMT)
u mean white spot or just rubbing body?
they have a big difference..
i thought yr tank got heater..??

hi...to everyone im kinda new here... really got a problem... i been feeding my fh for 4 month now with ocean free humpy head.. still his kok still yield with no result only a small one... what is the best tip... :chair:

dinosor - September 22, 2004 04:41 PM (GMT)
wat is your fh size now..
there's a few possible answer to this..
1st, your flowerhorn havent fully grown..
2nd, it all depends on the gene of the parent.. over 90% of it ..
on a few % depend of the food u feed them..
anymore question just ask~~ we are very willing to help you~ :D

cheers,

fishyman - September 23, 2004 03:09 PM (GMT)
hi man! welcome!!

Whether the FH will have a hump or not depends a lot on genes. Not much on the food they eat. :D

thanks for the advice dinosor and fishyman :) .. my fh is 4 inches including the tail... sumbody advice me to put mirror on his side :kok: so if ever he saw himself on a mirror he may thought of other and be very angry  it work for one day... and his kok do yield a little.. but i think the flowerhorn is sumhow really intelligent.. the following day... it no longer reacted to the mirror that i put on his side... :blah: do you think wen the fh mature then his kok will follow...

dinosor - September 24, 2004 02:12 PM (GMT)
some flowerhorn when they are small .. their kok looks quite big .. BUT when they grow bigger, the kok is still the same...
while some, until very big size and suddenly the kok become very big.. so it is very hard to say.. that's the interesting part abt them..hehe..
but with enough food + good water quality can bring out the best colour and shape of the fish..
do u have any pic of ur fish?

Hello Dino,

Yes, I have. Check them out at http://photos.yahoo.com/edgarang2004. They are not so good quality photos though...

For a 4-month old flowerhorn, is that a standard size for its kok? Or can it be bigger?

dinosor - September 30, 2004 03:20 PM (GMT)
your flowerhorn have nice colouration!!
as for the hump, it looks a bit smaller than those very kok type..
for this type of kok, when it grows big , the kok at the most will be only 1 to 3 times bigger..
but anything could happen ! some just kok out a lot when they reach adult stage

I feed my Flowerhorn vitamin pills(for human consumption) occasionally.
Try to feed them some too!!

King Almond - October 7, 2004 05:16 PM (GMT)

fishyman - October 9, 2004 11:16 AM (GMT)
Break them into half or quarters, then feed it whole.

Try to make them believe that it is food ;)
