dinosor - October 23, 2004 01:21 PM (GMT)
hi and welcome~
10days is abit too long for it to get used to the new food..
erm.. is it very restless now?? any white poo for the 10days?
any pop eye ? any bloated stomach? loss of colour?
any wound or any unusual sign u can spot on the fish?
1 more question, did u QT your small fishes b4 u feed to yr luohan?
your luohan might be suffering from internal bacteria disease...
not wise to feed small fishes to the luohan... some carry diseases..
junax - October 27, 2004 02:04 AM (GMT)
i think my fish is ok. no signs of problems. its just my fish will not eat. ill try to send you a photo to analize him. from the previos owner of my FH, i dont think so that he QT the small fish. he looks so relax and usually like to be near with visitors watching at him.
tnks.

dinosor - October 28, 2004 08:53 AM (GMT)
the colour looks so nice.. doesn't looks like it is sick..
erm.. now okay already? or any new condition that u saw?
junax - October 29, 2004 04:02 AM (GMT)
i think he is starting to eat a little after 14 days of hunger strik. he only eats when nobody is looking at him. but is it a good sign?
dinosor - October 29, 2004 04:12 AM (GMT)
do u just bought this fish not long ago??
or do u change the fish tank position?
or move the fish to other tank?
any movement of things around the tank?

Just a short note: Whenever yr fish got problem, try to recall what else had not been the same when he was fine them. Second, always check your water.
Flowerhorns are extremly moody and sensitive creatures.

Hi everyone!
Just joined today and i'm glad to be a new member in your forums. The information you share with FH lovers are vital.
Now with my problem ... i saw someone mentioned "white poo" ... i think one of my FH has it. What is it? And what treatment do i need to do? He hasn't been eating for the last 4-5 days. Do i need to QT him? He shares my 50g tank with 3 other FH. I'm getting worried it may also spread to the rest or it already did. :(
Need you experience in this matter.

is best to seprate it with other flowerhorn..
dose with interpet no.9 or any INTERNAL BACTERIA DISEASE medicine u can find around your house fish shop as soon as possible..
follow the dosage given by the medicine...
matain water quality..
internal bacteria may take sometime to recover.. can go on for a few weeks..
if yr fish don wan to eat, do scoop out the food..
anyway do u feed feeders to them?? try not to feed feeders in future..

Hi dinosor,
Thanks for the advise. I will check my LFS for those medication. Do i need to also give the rest of my FH the medicine just in case? or no need?
I fed it with a superworm and i guess that was what it caused it. I had to learn my lessons the hard way.
Will let you know in a few weeks what happens.
Ciao

Hi dinosor,
My FH seems to be recovering. His color has turned lighter and seems to have a little appetite. He is eating 2 to 3 pellets every meal time. I was so worried I thought I would loose another FH. Thanks for the info on the medicine and what to do.
I already lost 2 FH two weeks ago on the same sickness. This was the reason I had to search for answers and seek help on the internet.
I'm from the Philippines.
What about you what country and how many FH do you have? :)
dinosor - December 18, 2004 01:52 PM (GMT)
i am from singapore..
into this hobby for 2 to 3 years already..
got 3 flowerhorn, but 2 passed away.. left 1 with me for almost 2 years already..
very active and naughty.. hehe..
breed is jingkang ..
so the faeces of your fish should be white mix with a bit brown colour?

swordtail,
if u intend to feed ur fishes with superworm, u have to be careful cos superworms are messy and make the water dirty very fast. u may experience some tiny flakes and oil on the water surface. Normally what i do is to use a scoop to clear the surface unless u have a surface skimmer.
