Title: my bluedragon is having constipation

hi FHmember of aquafanatic.. hope somebody here can help me!!.. i recently boughth a ten small goldfish.. i plan to feed three of my flowerhorn each! once a day.. cause i heard that the goldfish bring much colour and nutrient to the flowerhorn.. so i put the goldfish i bought right beside with my bluedragon.. with a divider... but wen the next morning as i wake up.. three of my goldfish is missing and my divider is down... i believed my bluedragon had eaten the three goldfish.. and before noon his anal is swelling.. until today... i already change the water.. and stop feeding him food... do you think guys will it be alright after a couple of days... can you guys gave me an advice?? what kind of medicine should i treat my flowerhorn... hope i can have your advice thanks...

the anal is swelling or the stomach?

hi Dino.. my bluedragon anal is swelling.. i think a lot of food that is undigested coming out slowly.. but i think he felt much better.. its a relief :o .. but somebody advice me to put 250 gram of metrodinazole in aquarium and i did...to kill the parasite.. i think his anal is swelling a little now... i still do not feed him food.. for three day.. is it alright.. i think he is hungry most of the time... but he is still active... but getting thinner..

dun think there is any problem since it is getting thinner..
just watch your water parameter this few days..
erm.. don encourage of live feeds.. a lot of problem even after QT sometimes..

thank you for your advice.. Dino.. my bluedragon is ok now... his anal no longer swollen... :) i think i heed your advice never to feed him life food again.. it worry me a lot recently.. but he is very active and lively now.. i think i feed him one or two few pellet.. :thumbsup: this is my favorite.. such a small guy... his head kok showing a lot more potential... thank you again dino...

Get soem epsom salt. It flushes out al lthe constipation.

well i think i heed your advice Almond :o ... to find some epson salt.. probably in a petshop tomorow i search for it... but before oftenly i put iodized salt in my aquarium after changing water.. is it ok... is there any causes for that.. lately recently sumbody called me not to add iodized salt.. but i asked him is there any cause for it??? because i been using that ever since... he do not know also.. he just heed from other people advice that it is bad for the fish.. used only ordinary table salt not iodized.. :no: well sir/madam can i have some advice is there any effect on my fish using iodized salt!! does it causes any harm.. and wat the best salt should i used... :thumbsup: great to have you guy and gal around..

IMO, iodise salt is perfectly alright. in fact, iodine is necessary for healthy fish growth.
we usually use aquarium salt in case the home-use salt is mixed with some other undesirable agents instead of just iodine :)

iodized salt means mixed with sodium iodide,get DEiodised salt.

Get the salt at pharmacys. Fish shop dont sell it. Epsom salt seems to be going extinct in singapore.heard that it may stop coming altogether.But i have used it b4, and i think it works great!

yes... Dino my bluedragon is ok now... active and healthy as of now :fight: xcept i plan to know more about epsom salt for future use.. its probably good to have sumthing at home to remember.. thank you guys... for the advice.. :)
