Hey guys, just wondering how i can tell if my FH's are male or female. I have heard they don't grow as big? Ive also noticed on 1 of them, two bottom fins are getting a darker colour, but the larger ones don't have this colour. Whats the go there?

last time they see the dorsal fin. if there is black dot indicate that it is a female ..
but nowadays a lot of breed come out.. so not very accurate..
another way is to use their anal .. a V shape= male, U shape is F .. quite difficult to see..
how big is yr flowerhorn now? the best way is to see if it lay eggs anot.. about 3 to 5 inch size ..
if a female flowerhorn doesn't breed it will also lay egg on it's own..
few months 1 time.. some lay a lot of times..

Nar the whole fin is getting black also the fin that runs under the tail. Im sorta worried if its sick or something. It is getting bullied around by the bigger FHs tho, this one is only about 2.5" the others are about 3.5". So they are only still young.
Also the fish it self is going a bit darker in colour is that normal?
Also the red around the fin/gut area, what does this mean? the fish has been working out?
Sorry im only a newby to the fish scene.. Wanna try learn a bit so i know whats going on..
Thanks

the body of the flowerhorn have 1 strip 1 strip .. looks like a zebra..
when they are stress they will show this. but not every flowerhorn does this..
the whole part of the tail become black? maybe is chlorine burn.. just a guess.. but first,
separate them , don let them see each other.. see if the colour come back anot..
if not, take a pic ... :P
cheers
