Description: sanyu pellets

infinite - March 2, 2004 04:41 PM (GMT)
Anyone out there heard of "sanyu aweek red" pellet food??
My lfs just closed down and I can't seem to find this food that my fishes love anywhere. I've checked out many other lfs, but they don't carry it.

King Almond - March 2, 2004 04:44 PM (GMT)
Maybe u can consider changing pellets?

infinite - March 2, 2004 05:47 PM (GMT)
I might have to. Thanks King.

B@@n - March 3, 2004 01:20 AM (GMT)
Infinite - did u try 2 feed ur LH wif Aro-stick ? :gossip:

infinite - March 3, 2004 03:51 AM (GMT)
Haven't tried aro sticks yet but today went to buy "alife" pellet food for flower horn and
they hate it. They spit it all up. Got me pissed because had to take the food out.
I guess they need to starve before accepting the new pellet food.

fishyman - March 3, 2004 05:21 AM (GMT)
Infinite,

U can get Tetra LH or Hikari Flowerhorn pellets....both should be quite appetising for LHs

infinite - March 3, 2004 05:33 AM (GMT)
fishyman-thanks, I'll go look tomorrow for them at the lfs.
I don't remember seeing it at several lfs here in san francisco.
If can't find, I will get the sumo pellets. I remember seeing that.
thanks again fishy.

King Almond - March 3, 2004 05:37 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Sumo is popular in U.S .
Should not be a problem. But once yr fish grow....i think u have to change to a larger size pellet.

dinosor - March 3, 2004 09:47 AM (GMT)
hi, if you are coming to singapore do remember to call us.. hehe..
erm.. try feeding 1 or 2 pellet, slowly they will accept..

B@@n - March 3, 2004 03:12 PM (GMT)
i think ur LFS shld have Aro-stick for sale, look for it patiently..hehehe
back here in Singapore they r selling like S$13.00 pr kg...
very filling for LH.......

infinite - March 3, 2004 04:11 PM (GMT)
dino-i doubt i'llbe going to Singapore any time soon but i'll keep that in mind.
i think i give aro-sticks a try. i will update soon.
a little about my tank: 150gal, 2 separate bredding couple lh's with 1 couple "owning" one half of the tank and the other couple "owning" the other half. They respect each other so they don't go to each other's half except for eating. After eating they go back to their halves. Along w/the 4 lh's, I have 4 king kong blood parrots. The 4 lh's let these bp's roam anywhere in the tank except for their respected bredding grounds.
My food before goes fast, 1 can every two weeks as you can see why. Cleaning too, 20% 2 times a week. Plus, I have several 5 gallons tanks to raise my fry before selling them to the lfs. Thinking of getting rid of my breeding couples because I want to add more lh's but the couple would destroy them. Maybe just take out female and add more males??

fishyman - March 4, 2004 02:17 AM (GMT)
150 gallons tank, so it is approx a 5 feet tank??

not sure how u can achieve putting the LHs together without anyone getting hurt, maybe ur tank is large enuff for them to have their own territories.

I dun think u shld put in another male in place of the females, male + male = blood

have fun LH-ing! Hope u can post some of ur pics here soon! :D

B@@n - March 4, 2004 02:35 AM (GMT)
infinite - wow, tat many LH in 1 tank
sure will love 2 see photos of ur tanks...must be marvelous
do you feed them with "live" food beside pellet ?

infinite - March 4, 2004 03:04 AM (GMT)
it is 7 ft long.
before i had 6 males + 2 females + 4 bp's and things were calm. Then the 2 females mated with 2 males. The other 4 males were beaten up by the 2 couples. I have the 4 male in a hospital tank and they are now healthy. Maybe I take the 2 female out and put the 4 male back in. B@@N-i feed no live food. today went to get the aro sticks and they love it. thanks all. don't know how to post pics. need help.
