Gene Elliot speaks with Victoria Gotti for Entertainment Weekly Magazine in an interview where she talks about her experiences while filming 'Growing Up Gotti', her new hit television show which chronicles her personal and private life. 'Growing Up Gotti' premiered on A&E last week and has brought in top numbers in rating for the network. "It was annoying sometimes having those cameras following me everywhere but I learned to get used to it. They made a habit of waiting right outside my door when I woke up. I put a stop to that. Cameras are not the first thing I want to see when I wake up in the morning. So after I told them that, they gave me my space".

The single mother of 3 and daughter of crime boss John Gotti says it wasn't easy putting her personal life on TV for everyone to see. "The producers allowed me to see some of the episodes before they started airing it and some of the things I saw had me a little embarrassed but I realized that my family is just like anyone else's family. We all have our problems".

Victoria also talks about a part of the filming that will not make it on TV. "My boys can sometimes be very disrespectful. When you look at the show, you will see how they act. One time I had [hip hop rap star] Lil' Kim come over to my house. My boys have an ongoing joke about Kim because of her surgeries. I have no problems with people wanting to enhance their look. My boys are a different story. Anyway, they came downstairs because they knew she was coming over to let me hear her song that she made for my show. They always joke with her and she jokes with them but this particular day they took it too far. They started calling her names and Frank, my youngest, showed her a picture that someone made of her on the internet. It was just too much for her and she told me she couldn't stay. She put the CD in my hands and said she had to leave. Later that night she told me that she was embarrassed and it almost made her cry and she was mad that this was going on while the cameras were recording. I told the producers to not air it because I don't like putting my associates and friends in that position for the world to see. I didn't know she was that uncomfortable about it. I made my kids call and apologize".

This issue of Entertainment Weekly with Victoria Gotti on the cover hits newsstands on August 20th.
