Well, I've been brainstorming a lot these past days, including drawing concepts of my warsmith in -not the GW design, but my own- terminator armour, and coming up with a non-tracked, semi-organic, Techno-virus infected, armour-plated monster that replaces the Annihilator or Destructor variants of the commonly used Predator.
Last week or so, I went through my cardboard boxes marked with "Hobby Stuff" stored in my basement, and found a long thought lost Lizardmen Carnosaur miniature, dating back from the days when I played lizardmen. Although the model laid there in front of me completely in bits, I suddenly had a mental picture of an bionically augmented carnosaur wielding the sponson-mounted heavy bolters on its sides and the twin-linked stormhammer lascannons with the battery pack on its back, complete with added armour plates. Then it struck me. Back in WD292, when the Witch Hunters were released, there was an "Chapter Approved" article about creatures infesting the warhammer 40.000 universe. So I headed back up again, with the carnosaur model in my hands, and went through my WD magazines until I found the issue in question.
I went through the article until I found the Giant Reptiles section by Phil Kelly, and read through it. The article mentioned carnosaurs roaming the blasted wastes of the Triath sector, and I thought for my self; What if my Warsmith had captured a few of these prehistoric monsters and made them into living gun platforms?
Is this my graziest project ever? Maybe, but I think it will be something original. And besides, it's a big, half mechanical dinosaur with guns. You simply have to love that!
sounds cool man, just be careful that it doesn't look too "Orky" when your done. it might be worth thinking about using dread rules for this beast so it could go nuts once in a while, the carnosaur cares not from where the blood flows.
Infact, I settled down building up the weapon systems around a imperial dreadnought hull I had lying around in my bits box. So I'll try to "blend" the dreadnought bits into the carnosaur, and -hopefully- my brother in law can hand me over some used guitar wires. The hardest part will be sculpting the hide of the carnosaur as the Techno-virus ravages through its body.
And besides, I've always been a fan of gun-wielding prehistoric beasts
Reminds me of some old toys i had back in the day like a bionic t-rex with lasers and <Deleted by the Gods>, sounds alittle to much like exadites *space woodelves* to me tho.
Sounds like a good idea you've got going there. Do you plan on trying to put some kind of rider or handler with it?

No riders. Only handlers where one holds a control device, and the other one holds chains that are attached to a collar. I'll post some pics soon, just need to work some more things out. :thumb:
