greeneyes - February 13, 2007 05:29 AM (GMT)
Well, half-way down the front page here it has the VIP Member's lounge-

http://forum.altezzaclub.org.au/index.php?act=idx

it says "how to join"..

and in there is has a pinned topic "NZ-How to pay" and another for joining in Aussie.

The best I can do I'm afraid...

Maybe that's why we don't have everyone as a VIP!!! <_<

I couldnt find the vip join up I had to ask someone on the form for directions, and I designed and built my work website so I no my way round on computers and websites and I thouht it was hard to find.

Any possibility anyone here can offer their time to update the NZ site (the main www.altezzaclub.org.nz site) to possibly include a few other bits and pieces like the Aus site, like pics and details etc, and how to sign up to be a VIP member and recieve the benifits that we get :) .

I'm also happy to look at this and help as required.

Who was or has been doing this ?

greeneyes - February 15, 2007 04:31 AM (GMT)
Matt's (Frylai) friend from school, Thomas, did the current page, which I modded a little and loaded up. It sits on the free Orcon server and runs through the domain name I bought when we started altezzaclub.

I can load something new up there w/o a problem, but would caution you keen web designers against anything that shows a time-related object, like a calender or 'latest news'.

They are usually left languishing years out of date on most websites.

Stick to KISS if you can :D

Yeah (like the Auz site lol)
Just sorta have a few pics of cars from the club, a section that is possibly linked to the meets section so that people can just pop in and have a look when our next meet is.
And mainly...How to become a paidup member, and what the benifits are :P

cpufix - February 15, 2007 09:15 AM (GMT)
OK so we need a username and password to FTP to the site, whos going to give this out and who is going to control what goes on.

Suggest the number of people doing changes be keep to the absolute min.

I would like to add or have added my Index direct to the front end of the site to allow new and existing users easier access to information.

Colin:
Yeah the index would be great! We can beat the Auzzies and actually keep our site up to date ay ;)
(atleast they got a nice site working though :( )

Too right - much work needs to be done there, unfortunately none of us on the council here have the time or skillz to devote to the project at the moment.

We would like to redesign the AU site into something a little more blog-like, to make it easier to update with fresh/relevant content.

Looking for volunteers....

Can someone actually PM me with the site url, username and password for FTP first for the NZ site.

Cheers
