Title: Al's Mufflers
Description: Target Rd, North Shore, Auckland

Today I had the main catalytic converter removed and replaced with a resonator.
Well worth doing at only $140 all up. I had it done at Al's Mufflers on the Shore. I have only heard good things about them and after today I have to agree!
Very friendly, very good! The whole job only took about 35mins.
I'm very happy with the difference! It hasn't changed the exhaust sound much, but is an improvement. It has a nice low note at idle and when the engine revs it sounds great and not too raspy.
I have noticed better lower end pick up and throttle response. The pull over the whole rev range seems to be better, maybe it's just psychological
I'm also looking forward to the better fuel efficiency.

I have a stock exhuast system except for the main catalytic convertor (our cars have 3) now replaced with a 15 inch resonator.

Do you drive a is200 or rs200? and with the gains is it noticable? beacause i was thinking the same thing but not sure if i wuold be able to feel it or not

I drive an RS200Z.
I have noticed a difference. Seems to be a bit more lower end power and better throttle response.

When I took out my cat I noticed the last half of the exhaust system was about 1/4 inch smaller diameter in the pipe. Changed it to the same size as the front, made big difference to performance but not so much on economy.
