Title: Any Gossip For Is250 Minor Change/facelift?
Description: old man is thinking of buying one
SSML - August 6, 2007 05:10 AM (GMT)
hi everyone.
my oldman is thinking of replacing our aging 1994 ES300.
he went to checked out IS250.
Any news /gossips about possible change in specs for 2008 models? or minor facelift?
yangfan - August 6, 2007 05:31 AM (GMT)
There are 260 x new limited edition IS250 at the moment. Why don't you contact Lexus dealers for more information?
Checked Lexus Australia website and Lexus US website, no news...
Maybe a "cheaper" and "high performance" RS200Z, then invest reset of money in shares... then IS350
SSML - August 6, 2007 05:50 AM (GMT)
I am aware of special edition X available. I even checked out the cars last Sunday.
It's for my oldman and oldlady. so they are after something smooth, easy to drive . not hot blood speed machine.
Change from Volvo to Lexus in 1994 was already a big jump for my oldman
I doubt the dealer will tell u if there will be any facelift coming soon. becoa they want to sell what they got in stock first. that's the reason why I post here to ask the fellow Lexus enthusiasts...

make a bigger jump...maybe a new TRD Aurion, very smooth with 6SP auto, could be cheaper than IS250

oh dear smeg no ... trd aurion ?
235kw in a fwd fridge ?
whats the budget ?
i can recommend imho a subaru liberty gt or 3.0 in auto guise
very nice cruisy car
yangfan - August 8, 2007 12:12 PM (GMT)
might has too much torque steer when cornering, but TRD Aurion should be good when come to traffic light Grand Prix, only automatic model will be sold
IS250 would be a better cruisy car than very-soft liberty gt; both are too gay
saw a old lady (60+) driving a brand new VW R32 Golf last SAT... :) nice looking 2-dr

How good is it to have Yangfan back????
Hey Steven... I don't know of any changes between the 07 & 08, but im pretty sure there was some minor changes between 06 & 07, I just can't tell you what they are.
Are you particularly planning on sticking with Lex? The limited edition IS is pretty good value for money IMO, and you can get it in that sexy red color ;)
What are your folks planning on doing with your old ES ?

Did a quick research after watching Top Gear (they were talking about gay cars)
http://www.gay.com/content/slideshow/?coll...els/style/auto/Porsche Boxster, Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG etc are gay cars... IS250 has the same trend
bmalar - August 9, 2007 02:36 AM (GMT)
SL55 ??????
Where the heck do they come up with this crap??
pgauke - August 9, 2007 02:39 AM (GMT)
i know ay! i love the SLK55 AMG :ph43r:

yangfan - August 9, 2007 03:32 AM (GMT)
just making sure don't buy gay cars... saving some money for Ferrari F430 now, but Bridgestone tyres are shxt on F430, save money for F430+better tyres :)
F430 is not a gay car???
beerbaron - August 9, 2007 03:35 AM (GMT)
no f430 is not gay
trd aurion is !
YellowIS - August 9, 2007 03:41 AM (GMT)
Thats it, i've had enough of reading yangfan's "contributuions" in every thread, not once has he posted anything that hasn't led to him being taken serioulsy which in turn has always led to him reading gay websites.
Yangfan, it is my request to you please either;
start contributing with some purpose or
stop being an oxygen theif and breathing everyone's air
thankyou
yangfan - August 9, 2007 03:45 AM (GMT)
TRD Aurion is... maybe YellowIS is too
Please don't read this if dont have to....YellowIS! Thanks

yangfan, you're a very special boy, i'm glad they let you out of your cage.
that is all i have to say.
beerbaron - August 9, 2007 03:49 AM (GMT)
special boy ?
no wonder he likes gay reviews hahaha
yangfan - August 9, 2007 03:55 AM (GMT)
I am sure it is very special for "YellowIS" to get out of your "personal cage".
It would be very special for me to buy a F430 F1 or IS 250.
I think IS250 is a special car. :)
SO don't buy gay cars please
beerbaron - August 9, 2007 06:27 AM (GMT)
So dont quote gay websites please
alimac - August 9, 2007 07:32 AM (GMT)
Surely you buy a car because you like it. Whether a car is "gay" or not is only relevant for someone who is insecure in their sexuality. Personally, I'm straight, I know I'm straight, and I really don't care what other people think if they base it on what I drive.

I'm confused...
According to yangfan's theories, is the car gay? or the person driving the car gay? or both?

Oh and to actually contribute something useful to the original question posted, I think the 2008 model IS250 might come with the shark fin antenna like the BMW.
If you look at some of the US websites the 07 model IS came out over there with the shark fin antenna.
Stephen - August 9, 2007 11:21 AM (GMT)
Just like the IS-F. It too has the shark fin antenna.
bmalar - August 9, 2007 11:21 PM (GMT)
I wonder why they would be going to the shark fin antenna?? Wouldn't that be a "downgrade" from the current one? Or will it receive a better signal (for digital perhaps?)
yangfan - August 10, 2007 12:31 AM (GMT)
BMW using shark fin antenna for years, there is a small company in Taiwan makes Carbon Fibre ones, late model EVOs (EVO8 MRs and EVO9) also got small ones on the roof for better "AD"
I like the IS-F with 4 exhaust-tip, any chance for Australia and what is in it (V8 or supercharged V8)?
yanman - August 10, 2007 01:38 AM (GMT)
@SSML I rekon you should definately get your parents to take a look at the IS250X when it releases, however, apparently it only comes in 3 colours - silver, black and some ugly red colour hahaha. The IS250X comes standard with sat nav, sport pedals and scuff plates, leather, I think 18" rims (correct me if I'm wrong) and it's slightly lower too (again correct me if I'm wrong, I read the article yesterday) and ofcourse the X badge lol with manual starting at $64,990 RRP

It might be for the satellite radio that seems to be an option in the US.
Doubt it would work here in Oz.
