Title: Garage Update Similar To Other Forums?

xnickx - August 12, 2007 12:23 PM (GMT)
Any chance someone here knows how to creat something like the Irish/European AltezzaClub's (aka TezzaWorld) 'Garage'???

Example:
http://www.tezzaworld.com/forum/garage.php..._vehicle&CID=21

And I got bored a while back and did one for the GT too haha:
http://www.tezzaworld.com/forum/garage.php..._vehicle&CID=22

However have all measurements/currency etc in our terms (metric)

I like the idea of that styled 'Garage'

Hope we can somehow have something similar

Is there a web page where they have a link for add ons to invision powerboard forums like the PhpBB ones? One reason why i prefer the PhpBB boards over the Invision ones.

Anyone who has Php coding skills should be able to create something like that. But i it would take a bit of doing...

Indeed, we have been looking for a PHP coder for sometime. But don't forget we are still on InvisionFree's forums, so we are limited in what we can do.

The car blogs in the VIP Members Garage is the best place for this kind of info - in reality, most people (eg UK LOC forums) seem to use these garages in the same way they use door stickers ie. look at my shopping list. No one spends the time to actually tell people about their mods, and wether or not they were worthwhile, why the did them, what they might do differently, and so on.

I find car blogs far more educational and informative, and, for a car nerd, somewhat entertaining!

Of course, not everyone is willing/able to spend the time to document and photograph everything.

PHP coding is pretty hard, I'm one of the admins for GroupVIP.org and even though it looks pretty plain (and abit half done) it sports over 40mods (phpBB). I'm dreading upgrading it now to the latest version, I did manage to get a few extra fields (engine, interior, exterior, RICE & ICE) added to users profiles so they could throw in details about their cars, unfortunately after a few significant security updates due to spambots I couldn't figure out how to do it with the new version.
The garage option is definately the goodz though! I'm all for it!

I see what you mean eXo, that link just shows me "critical error"

Try again though as I've made the link more specific.

Thanks eXo, works now-

Anyone still interested in this?
I could come up with something... However using another kind of forum would set us back on the $$. Since all the traffic would be going to our own servers, and obviously we'd need to be hosted by someone that offers PHP.

Other than that, should be easy enough to do.

I guess you can export the database from this forum? So you would not loose anything thats already on here...

Hey guys this script would work
http://www.fusionscripts.com/products/garage_module/
its the same one LOCUK uses, even though i hear you kids seem to have some gripes with each other it works for them.

As for hosting i personally use a mob called lunarpages in the US, unlimited bandwitdh and storage space for USD$5 a month is good enough for me haha,
