Title: Pink Slip Not Required?

On the rego paper, it says "inspection not required". Does this means you don't need to have your car inspected (a.k.a getting a pink slip)?

I say on RTA site, you don't need to if the car is within 3 years old of date of compliance.

When you purchase a new car you don't need to have an inspection done for the 1st 3 years (rightly so!)

So all you have to do is pay your rego fees @ RTA after you have paid your green slip ;)

Kool, saves $31 this year, lol.

I think that's been extended to 5 year starting last May.

Yeah plus you dont have to worry about waiting around for somebody to do the road test, and have some grease monkey in your car!

As Reggie stated above, I think it has been extended to 5 years

Yeh i'm not keen on having the mech go for a test drive too, even though he's my mech for 10 years.

Good news on the extension.

and if your car is just hitting the third year now...you are included in the 5 year deal.

Grease monkey  we prefer the term technician, and test drives are done WITH leather Lexus seat covers AND floor mats.

Thank you very much lol.

not all places do the covering, it's the test driving i'm more worried about as they take it for a spin...

SfS - November 7, 2007 10:56 AM (GMT)
Its very hard to take it for a spin around our block, one of the main bosses brother lives on the route and if anyone is acting like a hoon he knows who to call

But yes some places do take it for a spin.
