Title: Dealers Stole My Nuts

ldc - November 19, 2007 06:15 AM (GMT)
I'm sure as night follows day that the dealers today stoled all my wheel nuts and replaced them with rusty ones. I went to put in my car for the maiden 'free' service today and yep that's what happened.

Should i go back and complain?

Are you 100% sure? Were your rusted at all before you took it there, due to rain etc?

If not you can always tell them and complain.

The car is still new, i doubt the nuts couldve gone that old. The nuts now on my car looked like they are 10 years old. No joke.

I'd feel like there was an empty part of me if someone stole my nuts

Haha!

In all seriousness though I think you should!

Wheelnuts aren't worth a great deal, but goddamn you have a new IS250!

I wouldnt state they stole your nuts, just tell them they must have accidentally misplaced your wheelnuts with someone else wheel nuts on that day, and they will more then likely help you out?

But yeah definately follow this up mate, and let us know how you got on.

Can you buy aftermarket nuts?

My only concern is when i sell the car and need to put the original wheels and nuts back. I'm looking to get 19s and they come with new nuts soon...

Yeh DR-JEKL got diamonds on his nuts :woot:

Hit 'em!!

It would be some low-life on the staff & the dealer will have no idea that some guy in the workshop is willing to steal from customers.

Go straight to the Boss & have a quiet chat in his office, just explain that it came back with some crappy rusty nuts and he should worry about what will be stolen next.

Used to happen to me with employees occasionally & drove me nuts! :P

Yes you sure can get aftermarket wheel nuts.

There's a good chance that the factory nuts will not be suitable with your future wheels. Many aftermarket wheels (eg. tuner/race style) will require narrower wheel nuts.

I went with McGards.

We have some come off the truck with rusty wheelnuts, but we get new ones undr warranty though.

I find some cars that have parked outside they come in and the wheelnuts looks alright, but when i take them off using the impact gun just the shaking etc of the nut when it comes off and taking it out of the socket is enough to pull the chrome finish off the nut if it has rusted underneath the "chrome" coating.

So they look perfectly fine, but look rusty after you take them off with the impact gun doe to this
