Gifu 2005 Altezza has that cluster (the car is in the for sale section on this forum)

They are very rare to find!

So if I was to find one of these, would it work in a 1999 Altezza?
What sort of money would one expect to pay for one?

rallymazda - May 23, 2008 05:32 AM (GMT)
my 2002 rs has that speedo, with the digital display

I cant see why it wouldnt cookie.

Do some searching I remember reading a thread when I first joined on this gauge cluster that somebody wanted to install into there car on this forum. By memory it was Mr Singh....

If my memory is correct he had everything working in his altezza bar one function on the cluster...

I dare say you would pay in the $5-700 AUD vicinity for one, not the usual $200 mark for which you pay on a standard altezza cluster.

i want this dash also... what is the correct name for it?

xnickx - May 23, 2008 11:04 PM (GMT)
Its mearly a facelift guage cluster, roughly 2001 onwards (think October 2001)

Cookie - if you get one from an GXE10 Altezza with the same transmission as yours, you will be good to go, just plug and play, if its one from an SXE10 (like in picture) you might have a few problems with input signals etc like the tacho, and dont think the oil pressure gauge would work properly.

cookie - May 23, 2008 11:34 PM (GMT)
I'm doing a 3sge Beams conversion in my IS200 so I probably need the SXE10 dash, as you said Nick, 6 cyl - 4 cyl input signals may be different. I already have an early model Altezza SXE10 dash on its way but I just liked the look of this one.

iS_w3z - May 24, 2008 04:57 AM (GMT)
i'd like this in the IS200 actually :) anyway of hooking it up?

cookie: dun bother just get a TRD gauge cluster :)

cookie - May 24, 2008 05:50 AM (GMT)
Think I might have to win Lotto to buy a TRD one, aren'y they upwards of $800-900? The one I got from Japan cost me AU$130 delivered. As much as I love TRD I just can't justify the money, not when I can get the one in the first post for approx $400-500.

xnickx - May 24, 2008 06:38 AM (GMT)
LOL you would be lucky to get one for under 1 thousand!

IS1000 - June 3, 2008 11:33 AM (GMT)
Cookie I have a TRD one and they are about $1100 brand new (trade)

They will plug straight into your dash the only differnce is the Tacho calibration from 4-6 (which will be ok once you do the swap)

As stated I have a brand new TRD one which I am willing to part with for a reasonable price.

IS400 - June 3, 2008 11:36 AM (GMT)
A good auto elec should be able to recalibrate a tacho.. I know it can be done and I don't think its too expensive...

IS1000 - June 3, 2008 11:40 AM (GMT)
One word which seperates the lexus from the word easy and cheap.

Multiplex

cookie - June 4, 2008 01:57 PM (GMT)
I hate that word.

Muller - June 16, 2008 06:12 PM (GMT)
nice, almost 8000 redline. I need to take a tezza for a spin one day.

black200 - June 17, 2008 03:29 PM (GMT)
TRD gauge will bolt straight in to your new ride cookie :)

when do we get to see it?! going to hand the keys out?!?!?!??!! :D:D

I was going to go on the Terrigal cruise but I'm on day shift so can't go. As far as the guages go I really just wanted the Altezza name on them when I was going to convert my IS200, but since I've got the Altezza I don't need to do this. That leaves me with 2 sets of Altezza guages, so if anyone out there wants a set I'll let them go for AU$200 each (both are for manual SXE10).
I'd like to give you guy's a drive but first you will have to prise my hands off the steering wheel and help me wipe this stupid grin off my face.

sky_elf - October 3, 2008 08:25 AM (GMT)
i bought one same as the one on pic, it working on almost everything, but once u switch on the light, the background light won't show up.
does anyone knows why?
i'm driving a '98 RS200 manual.

2nd Half 01 they came in.

I got a quote for a TRD cluster, and it was $1800 plus shipping from Japan. I was somewhat less than keen.

I too want that cluster, love the centre tach, and yeah, it should plug straight in, a mate has one, and his just worked.

Any idea ??
it'll be great if someone can provide the connector diagram for both.. at least i can
re-wire them...

caveman - August 28, 2009 07:16 PM (GMT)
thought i had the wiring diagram for the dash, but alas no. :(
So to clarify you have no back/dash lights ? (in the cluster), but everything works ok ?
4 pins on one and 5 on the other ......hmmm

NZandyTez - August 28, 2009 10:35 PM (GMT)
mate you need to get the connector which goes into that top plug, get the power off one of the wires from the main plug then should get lights in the dash

mik3fuhan - August 29, 2009 02:10 AM (GMT)
caveman,
the cluster no backlight. the rest of the gauge reading all working fine.
(indicators like ABS/signal/parking brake/etcs-power/snow.etc.....all working)

NZandyTez,
any idea which is the pin for the power on both plug ?

P1GLTZ - August 29, 2009 08:13 AM (GMT)
My 2001 RS200 Manual (SXE10 Chassis) has that dash. Has the digital speedo :)
