Charcoal mine is the first all you can eat buffet bbq restaurant in australia. this south korean style of cooking allows you to select the food you want from our cold buffet and cook it at your table on a charcoal bbq.

not your average quiet night out, in fact, anything but!! almost every table is taken by friends and families absorbed in conversation, cooking and enjoying the "atmosphere", which to say the least is energetic!

Attendees

1. Saito
2. IS400
3. smnt
4. w3z
5. DR-JEKL (If you come..i would really like to see your audio setup! ;) )
6. Altezza Girl (Hopefully she is still coming?)

8. sydneyis200

10. [[d a n n y]]
11. is300hp

- marinated scotch fillet (in soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil)
- marinated beef ribs (similar to above, with more garlic)
- lightly marinated scotch fillet (salt, pepper, sesame oil)
- pork belly (like unsmoked bacon)
- marinated pork (spicy)

- marinated chicken wings
- thin skirt (beef)
- ox tongue
- liver

Got a new ride yet Joe?

Yes I'm keen for this.. make sure you book it a bit in advance!

DR-JEKL - June 5, 2008 03:39 AM (GMT)
I am keen to come, just have to wait until the date gets closer as for me to arrive in Sydney @ 7pm will be a struggle, If I end up with a full work schedule on this day!

I will have to try and finish a bit earlier to make it to Sydney in time...

So who's going to do the cooking since it's a self serve self cook kinda deal?

Who can do the Japanese style cooking with the acrobatic flipping of the food etc :D

Shall I bring along my BBQ apron emblazoned with a well stacked chick in a bikini on the front of it for Charlie to wear while he is cooking?

sydneyis200 - June 5, 2008 04:27 AM (GMT)
Yeah went for one of these in Eastwood last night .... I'm keen if nothing else is on :D

Are there any big parking lots to take a few pics :D.

Parking is a pain in Parra but we can meet up at the Maccas and then push off from there ;) but I think your car needs to be "Fully Sick" to enter Parra Maccas isn't that right

Saito - June 5, 2008 04:55 AM (GMT)
@sydneyis200 - Yeah there is a parking lot just across the road from the restaurant.

user posted image

We can all park there..You can't miss it. There is a BP station right next to it. Cant see in the pic but it is at the top there ;)

There is always parking there at that time...

@DR-JEKL - first thing's first...

YES!! Bring that apron and please bring that chic!
And everyone will be cooking themselves....There will be no acrobatic cooking like what they do in Teppanyaki restaurants lol  But you are allowed to if you want!? B)

@IS400 - I will most likely after the end of next week to make the booking....as it is too early to predict the numbers..lol...but i hope over 10 people come to this...

Can't believe i end up organising when you and smnt where the first to think of a mini meetup...now it has turned to this..

IS400 - June 5, 2008 05:15 AM (GMT)
No stress.... I'm not fussed who organises it as long it it all comes together thats mad! :woot:

Where in Darling Harbour are u staying?

I usually stay at the 4 points Sheraton when I'm going to Darling harbour.

Have u booked in to do the Sydney harbour bridge climb?

Altezza Girl - June 9, 2008 07:42 AM (GMT)
Staying at the Grand Mecure - its the huge white Hotel right on the waterfront

Haha, No, no climb for me - there are no shops on top of the harbour bridge, so you wont get me up there!!

Don't forget to practice your acrobatic Japanese style cooking Saito! :D

I know I wont forget your apron for you to wear to ensure you don't accidentally flip a big fat juicy steak in the air and it lands on your Armani!

We all pay seperately...
I have done this before with a group dinner at with work colleagues.

But with mates..one always shouts...lol

But yeah ill just say that we are payign seperate. They will count hte number of people that are eating and collect the money. Is that fine with everyone? ;)

smnt - June 11, 2008 11:00 PM (GMT)
yeah sounds good. i've also paid the bill seperately at this place before so shouldn't be a problem.
