Title: [open] Genuine Toyota Cabin Filters
Description: New Zealand and Australia

xnickx - November 13, 2008 11:26 PM (GMT)
As prompted by more then 5 members now, doing a GB for Genuine Toyota cabin filters (lol need one for myself too)

There are 2 choices:

2) High Efficiency Electrostatic filter only

They are both the SAME PRICE, however, the Electrostatic one comes with the tray that the filter sits into, the High Efficiency option is filter only.

This GB is open to both Aus and NZ members.

As a side note, I do not make any $$$ on these, or nor do I benefit from the sales of these filters, mearly informing members on the deals my dealership is offering the club.

$15 for shipping to Australia

Payment options:
NZ:
- Bank deposit
- Credit card

I'm keen on option 1

I'll hook you up with my CC number over the phone next week once I've been paid.

streamz - November 13, 2008 11:53 PM (GMT)
I will take one with the tray.

My car is missing the filter and tray all together. Must have been destroyed when imported and never replaced.

I will take one with the tray.

No worries, just get in touch Jonathan and we can organise it

Jecks - November 14, 2008 01:06 AM (GMT)
where do i find it on my car? and how do i replace it?

xnickx - November 14, 2008 01:22 AM (GMT)
Most Altezzas on the road dont have anything in there as they were all removed from customs.

Look under the glove box, will be a black lid, pull that off, and you will see either a tray and filter there or nothing at all, I suspect nothing in there at all.
Just swap/put in the new filter and away you go

1337 - November 14, 2008 01:33 AM (GMT)
Hey Nick

I will check mine over the weekend and get back to you

ThunderChicken - November 14, 2008 03:51 AM (GMT)
Put my name down for the one with a tray.

Cheers

Cody

2undrd - November 14, 2008 04:39 AM (GMT)
Has anyone actually used one of these ones before? and noticed a $60 difference in there cabin smell/ dust/ health? Cleaned mine out just before and it was filthy... just seeing if its worth replacing....

law910 - November 14, 2008 07:14 AM (GMT)
does this fit only in the altezza or is it good for all toyotas?

yanman - November 16, 2008 08:51 AM (GMT)
Pardon my ignorance - no charcoal filter for our cars? I'm really only worried about the after-aircon odour

This GB is open for just Altezzas and IS200s/IS300s.

Others may be available, just send an email with your vehicle's details (frame and model numbers) and I will inform you on the filter.

OK have had a few people asking about where to find it, will post a DIY soon on how to find it and replace it :)

Its behind the glovebox

law910 - November 19, 2008 04:30 AM (GMT)
so to replace we need to take out the glove box ? or do it from the engine side?

xnickx - November 19, 2008 05:05 AM (GMT)

sockjammer - November 19, 2008 07:24 AM (GMT)
I have, well really i had a Filter, i just checked now, and i thought it didn't have one till i put my hand in, then felt this at the back all folded up. Unless it was put in at a service, which i don't remember being charged for it. and I'm the first owner in NZ, so it could of been there since Japan.

Chances are you won't have the bracket either, which means you'll need the not-best one ;).

law910 - November 21, 2008 05:23 AM (GMT)
can someone provide me with the part number for the 2 types of filters?

Is there the "better" one with a tray?

drjonnz - November 22, 2008 08:20 PM (GMT)
Hi Nick,

I seem to have the tray (and a very dirty air filter), so can I order the high efficiency filter from you, ie option 2.

Thanks.

J.

Hi Nick,

How much for one of these:
Filter - 87139-48030 - High Efficiency Electrostatic

Last time I checked, I had a tray and filter in my car, just gave it a bit of a dust off. Needs replacing though, as the cabin smells musty :(

xnickx - December 9, 2008 06:46 PM (GMT)
LOL did you read the first post?

Gidday Nick,

I finally had a look and I acually do have a tray and filter, shock horror... It was full of all kinds of insects and crap...

I'll go for option 2 as well please. I'll go for cash on pickup too if you don't mind?

xnickx - January 7, 2009 10:07 PM (GMT)
Yeah thats not a problem :)

I've set it aside for you

I will be away for 3 weeks from Monday onwards, so if you come in and I'm not here just say that a cabin filter has been set aside under JEREMY.
