Sooo many nice cars, and it seems we only drive them to work!

Do I need to organise a cruise somewhere? track day? skidpan? SOMETHING!!!

*edited as someone maybe watching

yeah you do :)

yojimbo - December 3, 2008 09:29 AM (GMT)
Stay tuned...

RE99IE - December 3, 2008 10:01 AM (GMT)
its been hard to organise one lately as everyone is on Holiday mode....we can start by doing a BiMonthly Meet..say ISMR or a shop that sponsors us then go from there. Try to avoid car parks (Maccas or KK) unless we are a patron or authorised to hang around there.

There is a Track day next weekend at Wakefield but can't make that one due to other commitments.

ID love to do a wakefield day, but I feel my current suspension / powerplant package is a reciepe for disaster. Ill be doing coilovers if the Aussie dollar ever recovers, but untill then I'm shit scared of the car in any sort of handling situation.

Im just itching to get out and do some car stuff, been a member for 12 months, and only met 2 other members!

hahahha Old PAC or Natio is worst than Wakefield...as least wakefield you will have a better run off. ;)

We can do a meet at ISMR this Saturday if you all are free then go from there.

yojimbo - December 3, 2008 11:01 PM (GMT)
Yeah, you are right. Perhapps it woudl be a good thing to go and get a wakefield time before the new gear goes on. A sort of before and after.
I didnt get that satisfaction before as I've never been in a stock IS200. EVER ! So I didnt get the before and after sensation with the engine conversion.

What time saturday? would prefer mid arvo as I have TWO work xmass parties on the friday. One for lunch , one for dinner. I may not feel like doing much on saturday morning!

RE99IE - December 4, 2008 12:26 AM (GMT)
We usually go to ISMR around the arvo anyway..say around 4ish...I was thinking of going to Oran to watch the last V8supercar as well coz I can't go on the Sunday.

IS400 - December 4, 2008 12:32 AM (GMT)

matt, i'd definitely get a custom shock and spring setup from heasman's if i was you. probably won't suffer the dollar fall as much either.

If i had my time again i'd go with a custom shock and spring setup using supra specifications. To accommodate for the heavier motor, but also becuase generally using tein or hks altezza coilover specifications will lead to a really soft and doughy coilover. I got the flex again, and they're too soft... once again. Softer than my last flexes. The shocks aren't qucik enough to deal with the bumps, even small ones. I put this down to the fact that they were engineered on an rs200 in jap/china, and as we know they have a fairly lighter front end due to the lighter materialistically motor. I think the 1g must be cast iron or something.

With the conversion you have, expect 70-100kg heavier kerb weight than stock specs. Next suspension i get will be cusom bilstein setup by heasmans (for similar price of new teins) made to supra specs.

food for thought! can't wait to see your beast running matt... mine should be up and running too in the not too distant future :D
