Description: Register your interest here !
FLEX - January 15, 2009 03:22 AM (GMT)
Dear all dedicated ACoA members !!
yes it has been too long indeed and i know there have been a great number of new members joining !!
Since i have long sold my lex and work avenue has increase - my attention has become slim in dedicating to this great club.
Since ACoA started way back in 2004ish ... it has become a great community to learn about the cars, become associated with great sponsors and ultimately meet new friends.
Im offering my position as ACoA Vice President to a new dedicated club member who has great vision as well as sharing in the growth of ACoA as a non profit enthusiast club !
I know Matt (TBird), President would be in the same arena as I am.
I will however from time to time still dedicate external services and contacts through whom I have had the pleaure of working with in assisting ACoA grow.
Stephen has been doing a great job indeed as I know how busy he is so THANKS MATE !! much appreciated !!
Now ... down to the finer points
Please extend your interest here if you wish to assist the club in any arena.
Im hoping to appoint a new Vice-President very soon with the approval and agreement of other council members:)

Indeed, as many will already have gathered, that is the case!
2008 saw me selling my beloved TRD200 for a new car My work load has increased at the office, and in December i (finally!) got married!
2009 will see more work, and more playtime at the track (hopefully!). I have now also been offered a contributors role for
Circuit Club, and will be attending a special event this weekend which I'll be reporting on in an upcoming issue.
So, indeed it is time for us to take a step back, and let some new blood move in to take the reins! As i see it, the foundations have been laid, and this club can still continue to grow and prosper. We have a good, friendly community here, a wide range of tastes, and some excellent supporters (Brett! Indy!).
I've made many good friends thanks to this club (some of whom attended my wedding!). I hope that there will be a few long serving and more recent members who are willing to provide some of their time to the club. It's thanks to people like these that the forums have maintained their standard, member packs keep flowing, and events are organised.
So, let's see some hands!

You guys have done great for this club over the years...why stop now ;)
It is worth listing the Responsibility of President and Vice-President so that everyone have an idea.
Matt- keep us posted with CC events...I'm still motivated to get myself out there again.

ACOA has given me a whole lot over the last few years, and everyone in charge of keeping this site running has done an outstanding job. So much so that one of the reasons I came back to owning an IS was due to the great support network and knowledge-base this club offers along side the friendly environment which is open to beginners much like myself.
My skills with the internets aren't that great, so I may need some coaching, but if in the instance someone is required to fill a junior role, so it can free up another member to fill the above positions I will happily volunteer my time.
Good luck with the search!
Pras

great to see passionate owners !!
Duties are very light indeed.
I mean dedication of around 5 hours per month (if that)
1. Main one being is Moderating.
You dont need super-duper hardcore knowledge, be a race-freak, a bling king, etc - just general common sense in keeping the forum mature and relevant to its topic.
2. Organise events and MAKE IT HAPPEN !
keeping the club alive on a social factor is important ! so cruise days / track days / BBQ days / etc will keep various interest alive.
3. Promote club
4. Meetings with council
This is usually done once every 4-6 weeks or so and open to everyone to attend.
open topics are discussed about everything club related to date or how to improve.
5. Scout new sponsors
This helps benefit both business and members as you know "word of mouth" is the best way in promoting.
thats pretty much it.

I would definitely be interested in a role on the 'council' Joe & Matt.
I have had a passion for the Lexus IS2/300 since they were first released on the market, and since owning my IS300 my interest has grown for the Lexus marque.
As already stated this is a great forum to share the knowledge accumulated between members, and kudos goes to you guys (Joe & Matt) for running such a professional forum over the years.
I am all for for promoting the ACOA on a social front, but the council meetings etc would be quite difficult to attend since I reside in Newcastle..
Cheers
Shane.

Shane, you've done well in organising the past few events for the Club! :) The meetings we've had were informal so it won't be an issue.
