Hey all,

Well I've after reading the other thread about the BBQ planned for this weekend which I can't make, I've decided to go ahead and setup a cruise for the 28th of March to Waingaro Hot Springs.

This will be my last cruise before I remove the Supercharger and ship it off to Aussie.

Drive wise it's approx 24k out from Ngaruawahia. So all you Waikato peeps feel free to join us :)

I'm thinking of leaving Auckland at around midday and heading straight to Waingaro for a swim, picnic / BBQ swimming some more and then as the evening draws closer heading back.

If you are free that weekend and looking for something to do then pop down an EOI and we'll try to sort out a meeting spot.

Price of entry to the pools is;

Adults - $10.00
Children (12yrs and under) - $5.00

They have BBQ's onsite so you'd just need to BYO food and drink.

Meeting places and times

Northshore - Meeting at Fox Outlet at Northcote at 11am

Everyone else - BP Solar on the southern motorway 12pm (Its the one after Exit number 458 - Papakura Exit)

We will leave for the hot pools at around 12.30pm

Those from the BOP Waikato etc... - unless you come up with your own arrangements probably best to meet us in Ngaruawahia at the Ngaruawahia Domain on Waingaro Road (just off SH1) at approx 1:20pm

is this hot pools the one thats been closed previously for having a E grade, they were found to be housing rats, or something like that and also water tests proved positive for human faecal matter

It's quite possible... I challenge you to find me a country location in NZ without rats... and a public swimming pool where a kid hasn't taken a dump in the pool.

Or a public beach for that matter lol.

No problem for me if you decide to skip it and stay at home :D

this is quite true!! esp the part about the beaches in auckland lol..

but even the thought of swimming in hot pools, which shit and piss mixed in with it makes me wanna throw up.

They have just finished puting in a new filtration system. I know this cause we supplied the plumber's who did the job. They would be as safe as any swimming pool in NZ

I'm keen, got my first weekend off since november that weekend so will b good to go for a cruise.

Gah... I've forgotten about a friends wedding that is on that day so now I have a bit of a dilemma... Go to hot pools or goto wedding and get drunk...

What are the chances of delaying it a further weekend?

Sorry everyone, my mates wedding completely slipped my mind until I had to help him do some painting in preparation for it on the weekend.

at this stage ill have the following weekend off too so i should be back in auckland by the sat, so still keen for the following weekend.

Well I'll be coming over from the island on the 10:30 ferry arriving at Half Moon Bay around 11:30

Shall we meet at the BP Service Centre on the Southern Motorway just past Papakura but before Drury at 12:00 and then head away from there at say 12:30 and head straight for the pools?

Thats the one with the McDonalds and AutoBarn food stops on it right?

Yeah that's the one... it's only accessible heading south. easier to meet there for members from Auckland and then the people from Puke can just meet us as we roll past the bombay's, I Didn't really wanna stop at Bombay's as it's a pain to try and pull out to the right at times.

I guess people can just leave as they decide they have had enough for the day. I'm likely going to be staying with friends in Hamilton for the night.

I should be able to make this by the looks. Thought I was going to be in Taupo the weekend of the 28th, but it's the following one. I will be coming from Tauranga. Where are the Hamilton guys meeting? Cheers

Not BP Bombay.. it's a pain to pull out to the right at times...

I know the one your talking about Thomas, I just saw Jeremy say above to change to Bombay to make it easier.

The one after the Pukekohe exit it is then the big BP Solar

The only other BP I know of out that way is the Bombay one.

Where is the one after that?
