Title: New Clutch Required
Description: how much should I expect to pay?

djpaubes - April 21, 2009 03:53 AM (GMT)
The travel in my clutch is getting rather long and it shudders if I dont pull off early... all that sitting in traffic I think.

So down the line I think I'm going to need one. What should I expect to pay for the stock standard? Or perhaps something a little better and will I get a huge labour bill also?

Cheers,

Solid Flywheel!:

Stock will cost more then the TRD Option as you would need to replace the Dual Mass flywheel which is $1,574+gst!!!

Ouch, do you really have to replace the dual mass each time?

I've seen kits on Trade-Me for the Pressure Plate, Clutch Disc, and Release Bearing for about $360

Yup thats right, the dual mass unit isn't machinable!

Yes thats right the SXE10 clutch kits itself is cheap, however the flywheel isn't

Can't see that-

They are designed to do different things. The dual-mass flywheel is meant to take up the shock in the drivetrain in the stock clutch, whereas the clutch plate in the solid flywheel version does that job.
