Looks great! but also rediculously expensive!
Still, cheaper than buying the TRD high performance brake kit by the looks
xnickx - April 30, 2009 11:15 PM (GMT)
Heaps better then the TRD price of $4,512.19+gst!
IS400 - April 30, 2009 11:36 PM (GMT)
:D Looks great!!
Is that a custom made up arrangement??? Cos when I was looking into BBK I couldn't find any lisitngs in the wilwood catalouge..

Are you going to buy them?
If not where's the link so someone else can :D
koz - May 1, 2009 01:03 AM (GMT)
Err... 1500? This just just for the fronts, right?
What kinda mods would be needed? Spacers?
ABS won't work after this?

abs will work after that, as the parts that are involved are on the hub, and the main unit sits up the line further (right next to your brake master cyl), not on the caliper or rotor

There is no way this would be $1500 for a new set.
Obviously they are 2nd hand :)
Those 2 piece wilwood rotors would be worth near $1K alone!
nutezza - May 1, 2009 02:45 AM (GMT)
Ok guys, let me clear up some stuff, this kit is a straight bolt on kit, no alterations needed, prob take about two hours. This picture is from my friends car, i installed them myself(mine on order already..hehe).............willwood does not have a listing for the IS300..............so they put me on to another company that they supply stuff to and have the application for the IS300.......................

Anyone want to hit them up for a group buy?
Saw leadtime of 6 months or so, gives us time to get loads of people for a better rate (and time to save!!!)

Can't say I'm spewing :P
Paid 1050NZD all up for my supra 4 pot kit including adapters and spacers. Where as those are 1500USD + 245USD for shipping per kit which is 3,055.76 NZD. For a package of that value customs will charge 12.5% making it 3437.73 including gst as well as around 40NZD in customs fees on top of the gst bringing it to around 3500NZD. Then there's also labor for fitting them if you can't do it yourself and brake fluid as well. Say 2 hours labor at $65 per hour and 2 bottles of motul race fluid at $40 per bottle so could potentially add another $340 onto the price of importing for installation. Then once they're all installed they need to be certified at $300-$400 depending the certifier in your area.
So all up (approximately and assuming $400 for compliance):
Wilwood-
$4240 installed by a workshop and complied
$4110 self installation and complied
Supra-
$1580 installed by a workshop and complied
$1450 self installation and complied
Personally I'd rather pay a 3rd of the cost of Wilwood 4 pots for my supra ones :)
Although, having said that the 2 piece rotors are complete badass :)

The picture is upside down of course!
The bleed nipple is on the bottom.
(it IS upside down isn't it...? )

Ahh yes, true that. So $300-$400 on top of both the wilwoods and supra kits. Will edit my post above to reflect certification.

Hey is there a sydney based Supra Big brake owner who could come over one weekend and try on my rims to see if they will clear the brakes.
I actually already have the calipers, just dont want to go to the trouble to fit them to find they wont go over my rims.

It's easy to get around taxes in Oz you declare the items as used goods or clearance items and with a value of $500.
Supra BBK are $1150 NZD + $50 P&H & $80 for adapters and your looking @ $1280 NZD $1000 AUD (add in another $150 for P&H to Oz and its $1150 AUD)
Supra BBK Price The wilwood BBK with 2 piece rotors (both calipers & rotors will be lighter and the 2 piece rotor design allows for a more efficient heat dissipation then the supra 1 piece items) and brake lines will cost $2484 NZD ($1941 AUD)
Add in the fact the Supra BBK doesnt have brake lines which are worth $200 nzd means when these are added to the supra bbk it's $1480 nzd ($1350 AUD extra P&H costs to Oz included)
$1350 AUD- $1611K NZDV'S
$1941 AUD - $2484NZDFor me the extra $600 spent on the 4 pot wilwood BBK would be worthwhile especially when you compare this to an equivalent BBK like the Greddy BBK its a fkn steal
Greddy BBK Greddy BBK $3K USD + 250 P&H
$4427 AUD (Wilwood 6 pot BBK is $2310)

Yeah I guess Oz is a bit different. Customs are clamping down hugely here for under declared packages at the moment and they don't hesitate to open the package to check invoices or have a look around the internet to find prices.
I guess I may have been lucky in picking up my full brake kit with the figs adaptors and wheel spacers and shipping for $1050nzd. I'm also not changing my brake lines which is saving me that additional cost.
I'd love the wilwoods but even for my application I just can't justify the additional costs for getting them into NZ
Geoff897 - May 4, 2009 10:08 PM (GMT)
I sent them a quick email and for a group buy of 5 units and they said.
