Title: Trd Lighten Flywheel + Exedy Clutch
Description: Both Solid Type

Lextasy - May 24, 2009 01:42 PM (GMT)
Hey Guys

I was wondering if anyone knows or tried a Exedy Heavy Duty single plate clutch (solid type) with TRD lighten Flywheel (solid type) ?
The Part no for Exedy clutch kit to suit TRD lighten Flywheel will be great help!
I tried asking Toyota and TRD direct and the answer either they don't know or can't give me the infomation.

Cheers

Can you cross reference the TRD Clutch Disc and Pressure Plate Part Numbers with the Exedy Kit?

Can a stock clutch disc and pressure plate be used with the TRD Flywheel?

I tried looking for the cross reference or clutch kit to suit the TRD lighten flywheel 13451-TF100. However, Exedy HD single Plate clutch kit which only includes plate, cover and thrust bearing is for solid type and the TRD lighten flywheel is also Solid type. Stock clutch and flywheel is dual mass and non-machinable, So i don't think its wise to fit a DM clutch disc and cover on a Solid Flywheel.

Is the flywheel out of the vehicle?

If so just pop down to your local Owens Brake & Clutch and they should be able to match you up with something...?

Some more info:

The clutch is the 'TRD Sports Facing Type Clutch'. Part number: 31250-SE130.

The clutch cover is the 'TRD Clutch Cover'. Part number: 31210-SE110.

The Flywheel is the 'TRD Light Weight Flywheel'. Part number: 13451-TF100.

I know Nick used to have a TRD Lightweight Flywheel, not sure if he biffed that also when He changed clutch setups or found a matching cover & disc to suit it... You might want to PM Him,

One question, are we just assuming its a 3SGE here?

As your screen name is Lextasy, which is most likly mean you drive a 1GFE IS200?

If yours is a 1GFE, you can't use the TRD flywheel as its for 3SGE only.

And yes I used the TRD flywheel with my Exedy bits and bobs, as long as the parts are made for a solid flywheel it will match up no problems

I was guessing its a 3S-GE by the part number he posted for the Flywheel,

If it is the 3SGE, then the TRD Flywheel will mate up to ANY clutch disc and cover as long as they are designed for the solid flywheel.

Just noticed He's located in Melbourne, in which case a 3SGE would be very rare so its most likely a 1G-FE :(

Either way, he's dead right here!

No springs in the center of a DM clutch plate, so it transmits all the shock to the gearbox without the DM flywheel.

i used to have 1-GFE but its gone to wasteland, so this is my old nick

From memory the Exedy Hyper kit = the TRD kit anyway!

So you should be fine :)

hey does anybody know if can ya get a trd clutch thats designed to be used with a dual mass flywheel??? i ask this as i have a trd clutch that i brought off trade me and it doesnt have springs in it, it has like rubber things in the place of where springs normaly would be so i was wondering if this trd clutch is for a dual mass setup rather than for the solid flywheel???

xnickx - May 29, 2009 04:44 AM (GMT)
The TRD clutch kit is made only for the Solid flywheel, not the dual mass

Lextasy - May 29, 2009 05:17 AM (GMT)
I'm sure TRD doesn't make any DM clutch for stock/DM flywheel but I remember Exedy does have clutch kit for both Solid and Dual Mass. I recommend you go solid since they're machinable and cheaper to maintain :D

cheers guys, i thought that would probly be the case. :)
